Living Space That Actually Works

The room setup surprised me in the best way. This isn’t your typical hotel experience — it’s more like borrowing a friend’s well-appointed Bologna flat. The space feels thoughtfully arranged, not just thrown together for short-term stays. I appreciated having a proper kitchen area because, let’s be honest, sometimes you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local market and cook something simple rather than dining out every single meal. What I really loved about staying here was how it connected me to actual Bologna life. In the morning, I’d grab coffee at the local bar (and I mean bar in the Italian sense — espresso and cornetti, not cocktails) just down the street. The evening passeggiata happens right outside your door, with families and couples strolling along Via Saragozza as the sun sets. You’re close enough to the university area that there’s always this gentle buzz of activity, but far enough from the main tourist drags that you can actually breathe and think.

  Really helpful hosts who were great to communicate with. Lovely spacious apartment with modern decor in a beautiful historic building. Perfect location – inside the historic city walls and an easy walk to the centre but also on a lovely street with lots of great little local restaurants/cafes/bars etc. Great water pressure in the shower and a powerful hairdryer. Very large and comfortable bed. Washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets etc provided. Cute little desk / bookshelf space too.

  What could be improved: We chose this place for its location and because it was suppose to provide an internet service. We are still running a business and needed the the internet service. The host apologised on arrival and said it will be sorted out, but this never happened. Very disappointing!!

  The bathroom was horrible. The shower is in a tiny tub where you can barely stand. Especially if you want to close the bath wall that doesn't fit. The shower is lame and leaking on all sides. The silicone seams are black, very unhygienic. After 1 shower the water is cold and the second person can no longer take a hot shower. The kitchen is very badly equipped, the basics are missing. No pepper/salt and no dishwasher tablets. Given the price of an overnight stay one should expect this.
