The location is honestly what dreams are made of if you’re the type who wants to really experience Bologna rather than just pass through it. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Giardini Margherita – and I’m talking a proper five minutes, not that travel website “five minutes” that’s actually fifteen. The park is where locals go for their evening passeggiata, and there’s this lovely energy there, especially around sunset when university students sprawl on the grass and older couples take their slow walks around the paths. What’s brilliant about staying here is that you can duck into the park when the city center gets overwhelming (which it does, especially during the academic year when Bologna swells with students), but you’re still close enough to walk to Piazza Maggiore or the Two Towers without breaking a sweat. The street itself is residential enough that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM, but you’ll hear the gentle hum of actual Bologna life – church bells, the occasional Vespa, neighbors chatting in the courtyard.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel room, which I suppose makes sense given the setup. Everything works properly – the heating is reliable (crucial if you’re visiting in winter, trust me), the kitchen has actual cooking equipment if you want to grab ingredients from Mercato delle Erbe, and the beds are genuinely comfortable. I’ve stayed in plenty of “charming” places in Italian city centers where charming basically meant “prepare to be uncomfortable,” but this isn’t that. The WiFi is solid, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. You know what really impressed me though? The attention to little details – proper hangers in the closets, good lighting for reading, towels that actually dry you off. It’s the kind of place where you can tell someone who actually travels put thought into what guests would need. The fact that it’s earned a perfect rating doesn’t surprise me at all – it’s that rare combination of authentic character and modern functionality that makes you want to extend your stay and start planning your next trip back to Bologna.

• Best stay for big group – Magda from Poland – 16 July 2025 (10/10)

  Big place, very comfortable for 10 persone (4 kids!). It has two seprate spaces- living room, 2 balconies, spacious kitchen, 3 bedrooms and bathroom with tub. Than there is big bedroom with walking closet and bathroom.
  Apartment was freshly renovated and very clean. Plus very good localization. You have giardini with playground, bars and foodtrucks and in the other turn centro historico. A few eating places open until late hours.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was perfect.
