Well, this actually exceeded expectations, which honestly doesn’t happen that often in Bologna’s increasingly touristy center.

The location on Via del Piombo is what really makes this work. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the university area, so there’s this great energy around without being stuck in the middle of student party central. The street itself is pretty quiet – I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something for Bologna in summer. What I loved is that you can duck into that little alimentari on the corner for morning cornetti (they’re warm until about 10am, just so you know), and there’s a proper osteria two blocks down that locals actually go to, not just tourists with guidebooks.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place. The modern touches work really well here – clean lines, good lighting, a kitchen that’s actually functional instead of just for show. I spent a decent amount of time cooking because, well, the Mercato delle Erbe is basically around the corner, and you can’t not buy fresh pasta when it’s staring you in the face. The wifi held up fine for work calls (tested extensively), and the shower pressure was surprisingly good – honestly, that’s becoming a rare find in Italian city centers. Storage space was adequate, though if you’re the type who brings three suitcases for a weekend, you might struggle a bit.

Here’s what you should know practically speaking: the building entrance is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention (look for the small brass nameplate), and while there’s no elevator, it’s only one flight up, so not a huge deal unless you’ve got mobility issues. The check-in process was smooth – they actually met me there instead of making me trek to some random office across town, which I appreciated after a long travel day. Parking can be tricky in this area, but honestly, that’s Bologna for you, and you’re better off using the train anyway.

The whole Sant’Orsola neighborhood has this lived-in feel that I really dig. You’ve got university students mixing with families who’ve been here for decades, little cafes that close for proper lunch breaks, and that particular Italian rhythm where everything slows down between 1 and 4pm. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Piazza Maggiore if you want the full tourist experience, but close enough to the Giardini Margherita that you can actually escape the crowds when you need to breathe.

Bottom line – this place delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s going to give you a solid base to actually experience Bologna like a person who lives there, not just someone passing through with a camera. For the price point and the location, that’s pretty much exactly what you want.

  Lage perfekt. Grüner Innenhof mit Teich und Wasserspiel.
  Vermieter in der Nähe. Gut erreichbar, auch über whatsapp.
  Sehr grosser Kasten im Schlafzimmer.

  What could be improved: Haus ist ringhörig, meistens ist es jedoch sehr ruhig. Manchmal Geräusche von oben, auch in der Nacht.
  Frotteewäsche nur für 1 Woche.
  Keine Küchenwäsche.
  Brause der Dusche verkalkt.
  Fugen in Dusche mit einigen schwarzen Stellen.

  L'appartamento era situato in una zona molto tranquilla e silenziosa, con finestre su giardino interno. Aspetto signorile e curato. Bagno con doccia molto spaziosa. Presenti lavatrice, asciugatrice, ferro ed asse da stiro (che non abbiamo utilizzato a causa del breve soggiorno – 4 notti). Camera da letto matrimoniale spaziosa, con piacevoli stampe alle pareti e sopra la testiera del letto un'affascinante panorama del centro storico bolognese. Abbondanza di armadi spaziosi. Soggiorno con tv con tanti canali. Cucina di ridotte dimensioni, ma funzionale, dotata di apprezzata macchinetta per il caffè. Letti comodi. Nello sgabuzzino era presente anche un utilissimo stendino per far asciugare gli asciugamani (forniti dalla struttura). Dopo il check out ci hanno tenuto gratuitamente i bagagli, finché nel pomeriggio non abbiamo preso un taxi per la stazione (fermata taxi a pochi metri dalla reception).
  
  What could be improved: Purtroppo, al nostro arrivo (18 aprile) abbiamo trovato la lavastoviglie non funzionante (a causa del periodo festivo comprensibilmente lo staff non ha potuto richiedere l'assistenza tecnica) ed altre imperfezioni che sono subito state sanate dal personale di Wonderful Italy contattato via WhatsApp. Comunque la reception era ubicata vicino alla nostro appartamento. Odore di fumo quando si rientrava nell'appartamento, ma arieggiando un po' andava via. I mezzi pubblici di Bologna sono pessimi.

  Non possiamo che ritenerci soddisfatti dell'appartamento, che ha soddisfatto a pieno le nostre esigenze di un posto semplice ma accogliente dentro le mura del centro, con spazi adeguati per piú ospiti (superiori alla media del centro storico), cucinetta attrezzata, ampio bagno completo di tutto, addirittura con lavatrice e asciugatrice, WI FI. Ho gradito molto la macchina del caffè e l'ottimo impianto di riscaldamento. Personale di agenzia molto professionale.

  Appartement au calme dans une résidence sécurisée, à proximité de commerces et restaurants (5 à 10 min à pied), Rue calme, proche de la route "périphérique" de Bologne où l'on peut prendre le bus circulaire qui nous amène en à peine 10mn à la gare centrale. société de location au top avec son bureau à 10mn à pied ou vous pouvez récupérer vos clefs et éventuellement laisser vos bagages.
  L'appartement est très bien équipé et tout est fonctionnel, cuisine, ustensiles, lave linge et sèche linge, wifi. il y a même des capsules Nespresso, des pastilles lave vaisselle ou linge. Vraiment top !
