Appartamento elegante alle Due Torri by Wonderful Italy Overview
So, I stumbled upon this place during a spontaneous Bologna trip last spring, and honestly? The name “Appartamento elegante alle Due Torri” sounds way fancier than what you’d expect from the address. I mean, Via dell’Inferno – literally “Hell Street” – but don’t let that scare you off. It’s actually this charming little medieval street that winds through the heart of Bologna’s historic center, and you’re basically a three-minute walk from those famous leaning towers everyone comes to see.
The apartment itself is tucked into one of those gorgeous old buildings that Bologna does so well – you know, the ones with those endless porticoes and weathered brick facades that look like they’ve been Instagram-ready for about 800 years. What really struck me was how Wonderful Italy managed to balance that authentic Italian apartment feel with actual modern comfort. The space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile, which is refreshing after staying in cookie-cutter hotels. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – not just for show – which came in handy after hitting the Quadrilatero food market (literally around the corner, by the way). There’s this beautiful interplay between old architectural details and contemporary touches that doesn’t feel forced or trying too hard.
Location-wise, you’re in the thick of everything without being on one of those touristy streets where you can’t escape the crowds. Via dell’Inferno connects to Via Rizzoli, so you’ve got easy access to Piazza Maggiore, but you can also slip down toward the university area pretty easily. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being perfect. Check-in was smooth enough, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since it’s an apartment rather than a hotel with 24/7 reception. Parking’s the usual Bologna challenge (narrow streets, limited spaces), but honestly, once you’re settled in this neighborhood, you’ll be walking everywhere anyway. The morning light filtering through those tall windows while you’re having coffee and planning your day – that’s the kind of detail that makes a place memorable, you know?

Reviews of Appartamento elegante alle Due Torri by Wonderful Italy
Lovely spacious apartment right in the centre – Julia from Australia – 17 June 2025 (10/10)
Loved everything! Fantastic location a few metres from the centre, nice and spacious with big bedrooms and bathroom, and lots of little touches like coffee pods and laundry supplies.
Good – Darryl from Malta – 10 February 2025 (7/10)
Perfect location as it is in the centre
The company kept in contact and always replied in a few minutes
What could be improved: The person who checked us in didn't tell us that in order to turn on the appliances we needed to use the control panel, however when I sent them a message they told me how to do it
The central heating was not working
There was no hot waterExceptional – Florin from Romania – 8 January 2025 (10/10)

We like this accomodation, but we didnt like Bologna And Italian hospitality for general. The first things you hear is s – Milan from Serbia – 6 May 2024 (8/10)
Accommodation in Bologna was nice and spacious, warm and clean. New furniture, new kitchen, excellent bathroom. It is located in the city center near two towers, in a narrow alley. We were greeted by a girl who explained everything nicely. We visited the city as a city both at night and during the day. We liked it during the day, but not at night. Narrow streets, old buildings. Long corridors with arches. We have never seen anything like it in our life.
What could be improved: We often wrote and asked the same questions on the booking for parking and a crib for the baby and did not get answers. Only after several days would someone send an answer. Our parking was a public garage 650 meters from the accommodation. Because this area is closed to traffic. The town is not really for babies, because everything is made of stone slabs. Due to the narrow streets and the proximity of neighboring buildings, daylight was weak and there was no help. That's just the concept of accommodation.Exceptional – Petrou20 from Cyprus – 14 July 2023 (10/10)
We met Abu outside of the apartment, who showed us everything needed.
The apartment is ground floor. That was very convenient with the stroller (3-4 stairs only).
Kitchen was fully equipped with anything you need for cooking and/or eating, a dish-washer, bottles of water in the fridge, cleaning appliances etc. Bathroom/Toilet was also clean with hand and body soap, and a washing machine. Towels were also provided for all of us.
Even though the apartment is facing a semi-popular pathway, you can't really hear a lot of noise as the windows are equipped with external shatters.
Location of the apartment is perfect. One way you walk 2 minutes and you are at Le due Torri: Garisenda e degli Asinelli, and another 5-10 to go to Piazza Maggiore, and on the other way you are 1-2 minutes away from 2-3 supermarkets, a la prosciutteria and gelateria.
What could be improved: Shower water pressure could have been more. Nothing tragic though. Just as an improvement.
Taxi driver dropped us of at a wrong place, and so arrived at 20:05. As such we had an extra 20 euro charge. They do mention it in the apartment information, and was expecting it. But still didn't like it.Modern, rennovated appartment in an excellent location. – Despoina from Cyprus – 20 April 2023 (9/10)
The apartment is in a great location, super clean and beautifully decorated. The temperature was great. Paula, who waited for us for the check-in, was super kind and helpful. Although the apartment is in the city centre the neighbourhood is not noisy.
What could be improved: It lacks very few things, like more glasses or cutlery and bowls. Other than this it is excellent, and we would definitely choose it again. It was our first time in Bologna … what a fabulous city 😊 – Sally from United Kingdom – 30 October 2022 (8/10)
Excellent location and comfortable beds
What could be improved: Not enough comfortable seating – only 1 sofa for 5 people.Superb – Katarzyna from United Kingdom – 29 October 2022 (9/10)
Location was great. The apartment was nice and clean with washing machine.
What could be improved: It can get noisy. One room is right by the alleyway and the other looks into the neighbors and vice versa. We were met by one of the staff and let into the apartment, and that's that. We had questions and tried to contact them but no answer. Oh, and the AC wasn't working, the staff member couldn't figure it out for us either…Quiet location but near to the action. Comfortable. – Jo from United Kingdom – 7 October 2022 (9/10)
The location is very good. Quiet but very close to the action. The apartment is modern and well equipped. The check in was done well. Good supply of coffee and tea provided.
What could be improved: It is a corporate run apartment, so it could benefit from some small touches. There was not enough cutlery and it would be nice to have a small set of foods such as salt and oil. But these are small things – overall it was a very good experience.perfect location – Natalie from Australia – 28 September 2022 (9/10)
fab location. great size
What could be improved: front bedroom window opens onto street and we couldn’t open the window or get the aircon on so it was a bit stuffy. in fairness we didn’t report it so didn’t provide opportunity to fix it
