The Wi-Fi was solid, the shower had proper water pressure, and there’s decent natural light during the day. You’re close enough to Piazza Maggiore that you can easily walk there for your morning cappuccino, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you won’t hear groups of visitors wandering around at all hours.

Honestly, the real magic happens when you step outside. Bologna’s food scene is incredible – I’m talking about the kind of tortellini and tagliatelle that makes you understand why Italians are so passionate about their cuisine. There’s a little osteria just around the corner that locals actually frequent, and the Saturday market in Piazza delle Erbe is maybe a 5-minute stroll away. You can grab fresh produce, local cheeses, and that amazing mortadella Bologna is famous for. The evening passeggiata culture is strong in this neighborhood too – around 6 PM, you’ll see families and friends just wandering the streets, chatting and enjoying the early evening air.

The apartment works particularly well if you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two.   What could be improved: The company that manages the unit wanted to charge 20 Euros because we arrived nine minutes past 8PM. The apartment is functional but lacks a “homy charm”. They charge for extra towels but for 6 nights we were given only one towel each, which was damp throughout the week. There is a washing machine but nowhere to hang the clothes to dry;
  
  The very low-pressured shower has no door and the water leaks towards the bedroom and flood the bedroom! There were no lights in the bathroom. The apartment was very cold ( not their fault) but there were no extra blankets.

  Their message said they’d help us get a transfer to the station, but when I asked we were given a taxi station phone number that never aswered the phone.

  The location is excellent. The apartment was very clean. They accommodated our request for late check in, even though we had to pay late check in fee.
