The building sits right on this narrow medieval street – Corte de Galluzzi – which sounds fancy but it’s actually just a stone’s throw from Via dell’Indipendenza. You know what I mean, close enough to everything but tucked away from the tourist chaos.

The thing about staying on the third floor (they call it “3 piano” here) is that you’re basically living above centuries of history. I mean, the morning light filtering through those windows while you can hear the gentle clatter of espresso cups from the bar downstairs… it’s pretty magical. The rooms themselves have this smart, minimalist vibe – not sterile modern, but thoughtfully designed. They’ve managed to blend contemporary comfort with respect for the old bones of the building, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in these historic Bologna palazzos. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s polished without being pretentious.

What really sold me though was the location intelligence. You’re literally a five-minute walk to Piazza Maggiore, but here’s the thing locals know – you can also slip down to Via del Pratello for aperitivo without dealing with the main tourist drags. The morning routine becomes this lovely ritual: grab cornetto and cappuccino at the corner bar (the one with the red awning, you’ll see it), then wander through the porticoes toward the university area. Parking can be tricky – I’d recommend the Riva Reno garage about ten minutes away – but honestly, once you’re here, you won’t need a car. The buses run regularly, and everything worth seeing is walkable. Actually, that’s part of Bologna’s charm; it’s perfectly sized for exploring on foot. The 8.9 rating makes total sense when you experience how seamlessly everything works together – the staff clearly knows their city and they’re genuinely helpful, not just going through the motions. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

  Ich hatte einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem charmanten Appartement im Herzen von Bologna. Die Lage ist einfach fantastisch – mitten in der Altstadt und dennoch ruhig, da es zum Hinterhof gelegen ist. Das Appartement ist perfekt für Alleinreisende, bietet aber durch die ausziehbare Couch auch Platz für weitere Personen. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet, wurde aber aufgrund der vielen großartigen Restaurants in Bologna kaum genutzt 😉 Das Abholen des Schlüssels war perfekt erklärt und hat reibungslos geklappt. Die Eigentümer des Appartements, die im selben Haus wohnen, sind äußerst sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Ich würde dieses Appartement bei meinem nächsten Besuch sofort wieder buchen.

  This apartment is in a prime location. Although it is very central, I found it be very quiet at night. It had all the facilities needed for my stay and I felt the size was perfect for a solo traveller. The communication with the host was excellent.

  Perfect location!!! Clean apartment with fully equipped kitchen, only 30 metres from the main square. 20m from a bus station, market nearby, park and a lot of restaurants. Highly recommended, will definitely visit again!!!!

  The location is outstanding. Right on the edge of the inner city center, within a minute you are on the main square of Bologna. Bus stops, restaurants, cultural sites, everything is nearby, yet because the apartment's windows are not on a busy street, there is no noise.
  
  The apartment has everything you need, the kitchen and bathroom are big and equipped with everything you need, even down to a washing machine and laundry detergent.
  
  The owner lives in the building which was very convenient for us as we needed to be in contact twice. Both times our requests were handled quickly and friendly. Really great service.
  
  What could be improved: Since the bed is a pull-out couch, it was not super comfortable. We were aware of this while booking of course, and the bed itself was actually fine but it makes a lot of noise, so turning around is already very noisy. This was perhaps the only downside to the apartment, but seeing how great the location and price are, it was worth it and it would not stop us from booking again.
  
  One other minor disappointment was not being able to use the roof terrace at our own leisure. We would have to ask the owner to open the door to the roof, so we ended up just not using it at all, even though we would have liked to.
