The name makes it sound like you’re staying right on Piazza dell’Unità, but you’re actually tucked away on Via Pellegrino Tibaldi – which, honestly, turned out to be way better than I expected. It’s this quiet residential street that feels properly Bolognese, if that makes sense. You get the authentic neighborhood vibe without tourists constantly walking past your windows at 7 AM.

The apartment itself has that solid 4-star feel without being stuffy about it. I mean, the 8.3 rating makes sense once you’re inside – everything works like it should, the wifi doesn’t cut out when you need it most, and the kitchen actually has decent knives (seriously, why is this so rare in rentals?). The Wonderful Italy team clearly knows what they’re doing with these properties. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep some character in the space while making it functional for travelers. The building feels like it belongs in Bologna – you know, that mix of old-world charm and practical Italian living that the city does so well.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to the main action around Piazza Maggiore, which is perfect because you can easily get to the good stuff but you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise when you want to decompress. Via Tibaldi connects nicely to the university area, so there are actually decent bars and restaurants within a few blocks that aren’t just tourist traps. I found this little osteria about three streets over that became my regular spot – the kind of place you stumble onto when you’re staying in a real neighborhood instead of right in the centro storico. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (like everywhere in Bologna), but the street parking works if you’re strategic about timing, and there’s a garage about five minutes away if you want to pay for peace of mind. The whole Sant’Orsola area feels lived-in and comfortable, which I think matters more than being able to see the Two Towers from your bedroom window.

  What could be improved: The information and pictures in the site showed a double bad and 2 single beds in the other bedroom, but when we arrive the 2 single beds were together as a double bed.

  What could be improved: Apartment was on thr top floor and there was no lift. There was scaffolding around the lift and building materials in the hallway so didn't look very nice! There was a problem with the lock and we reported this to Wonderful Italy.

  The apartment is exactly like in the pictures, renovated and very nice. Just consider it is located on the 3rd floor and there is no lift.
  
  What could be improved: It would be nice if self check-in was possible. A lockbox is something very easy to provide. I had to pay extra 40 euros to check in at 00:30.
