Tucked away on Via Filippo Schiassi in the Navile district, this place has this warm, lived-in elegance that’s honestly refreshing after all those sterile chain hotels. The neighborhood itself is properly Bolognese – you’re about a 15-minute walk from the centro storico, but here you get to see how locals actually live. There’s this fantastic little osteria just around the corner that I stumbled upon purely by accident, and the morning sounds are more birds and coffee machines than tourist chatter.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between comfort and character. The rooms have this sort of understated sophistication – think rich fabrics and thoughtful lighting rather than flashy renovations. I mean, it’s a proper 4-star property, but without any of that trying-too-hard vibe you sometimes get. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have those little touches that show someone actually thought about what guests need. Honestly, the whole vibe reminded me of staying with a well-traveled aunt who has impeccable taste but doesn’t make you feel like you can’t touch anything.

The staff here – and this might sound cheesy but it’s true – genuinely seem to care about your experience. Check-in was smooth, they knew the area well enough to give actual recommendations (not just the tourist traps), and when I mentioned I was hoping to catch an early train, they sorted breakfast timing without making it feel like a huge favor. Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned if you want to explore Bologna properly. The bus connections are solid, but honestly, walking into the city center is half the fun – you pass through these lovely residential streets that give you a real sense of the place. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area, but they’ll point you toward the best options nearby. With a 9.5 rating, this isn’t just another pretty hotel – it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back to Bologna just to stay here again.

  The apartment is located in a beautiful area, pretty near to the city center, with easy acces to the bus.
  You have a few shops and restaurants nearby.I highly recomend "Mimi's" for an authentic experience.

  We had a wonderful stay at Casa di Esther! From the moment we arrived, Federica made us feel right at home with her warm and friendly welcome. She truly goes above and beyond—she even prepared a beautifully detailed welcome book, which gave us all the important information we needed before and during our stay.
  
  The house itself is spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was great for a good night's sleep, and the facilities throughout the home were excellent. One of our favorite parts was the small terrace, where we enjoyed our morning coffee every day—it was such a peaceful way to start the day.
  
  The location is ideal if you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood while still being connected to the city. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the center, or even quicker by bus, with a stop conveniently close to the house.
  
  Federica is one of the best hosts we’ve encountered, and we’d absolutely recommend Casa di Esther to anyone visiting the area!

  The apartment is spacious and has a kitchen with the stove, fridge, cutlery and a Nespresso coffee machine. With it goes plenty of free coffee and tea. The interior design is executed in an impressive style with a mix of European and African aesthetics. The neighborhood is very cosy, beautiful and calm. It's well connected with the bus service that's pretty cheap in Bologna (1.5 € per ride per person). A great bonus is the court dinner table where one can enjoy a meal under the sun and listen to bird songs under the lush trees. The host Federica was very warm and welcoming, she provided us with everything we needed and more.
  
  What could be improved: The only minus is the fact that it's a semi-cellar apartment with only one opaque window.

  First of all the hostess, Federica was very nice and so much helpful. The room was big, clean and beautiful. The biggest plus from me were the infos Federica had sent us before our arrival and the sweetest move from her was the note se left us in the room because we arrived late at night and she couldn't welcome us. We totally recomend a casa di Esther, it was excellent!!!!

  I have never stayed in an apartment like this before. Very lovely, comfy and clean. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to find. In front of the house 50m on the right there is the bus station where you can catch the bus 25 and it will take you in the centar (2 towers) in 7-8 minutes and also to the bologna centrale station in 12-13 minutes. The staff was very friendly, Frederica is available all the time and ready to help.
