Suite Hotel Elite Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Suite Hotel Elite on Via Aurelio Saffi, I wasn’t expecting much. The street itself is pretty unassuming, you know? But then you step inside and it’s like, oh okay, this is actually something special. The lobby has this understated elegance that immediately tells you they’ve put thought into the details without being flashy about it.
What really won me over was the location – and I mean the *real* location benefits, not just “convenient to everything.” You’re about a 15-minute walk from Bologna Centrale station, which sounds far but honestly it’s the perfect distance. Close enough that you’re not lugging bags forever, but far enough that you don’t hear the constant train announcements echoing through your room at night. The walk takes you right through some of Bologna’s quieter residential streets, and there’s this fantastic little pasticceria about three blocks away that locals actually use (not just tourists). I found myself grabbing cornetti there every morning instead of doing the hotel breakfast thing.
The suites themselves are spacious – actually spacious, not “European spacious” where you can barely open your suitcase. I had room to spread out, which after weeks of cramped accommodations was honestly a relief. The kitchenette was more functional than I expected, though I’ll warn you the coffee maker is one of those tiny European ones that makes thimble-sized cups. But then again, you’re in Bologna – you should be getting your coffee from the bar downstairs anyway. The bathroom had this rainfall showerhead that actually had decent pressure, and the towels were thick enough that I didn’t feel like I was drying off with paper towels.
Here’s something I appreciated that you might not think about until you’re there: the soundproofing is really good. Via Aurelio Saffi isn’t exactly a main thoroughfare, but it’s not dead quiet either, especially during the day. I never once woke up to street noise, which in Italy is honestly impressive. The air conditioning worked without sounding like a helicopter was landing on the roof, and the Wi-Fi was strong enough that I could actually video call home without pixelating every five seconds.
The staff deserves a mention too – they had that perfect balance of being helpful without hovering. Check-in was smooth, they spoke excellent English when my Italian failed me, and they gave me actual useful recommendations for restaurants (not just the touristy spots near the center). One guy at the front desk told me about this incredible tortellini place that I never would have found otherwise.
Look, it’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but Suite Hotel Elite does everything right without trying too hard. The 8.4 rating feels spot-on – it’s solidly above average in all the ways that matter when you’re actually living in a place for a few days. If you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere that understands both comfort and location without paying five-star prices, this is your spot. Plus, you’ll have some great stories about wandering through real Bologna neighborhoods instead of just bouncing between the main tourist zones.

Reviews of Suite Hotel Elite
Good value for money in a strange hotel – Calin from Romania – 10 July 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast is very good, staff very nice and rooms are exceptionally big – fridge (with 4 bottles of cold water in!) and a fully equipped kitchen. Huge bathroom.
What could be improved: Is a strange hotel. Probably apartments transformed in hotel. Location is not that good – it takes roughly 30mins to city center – and they don't have parking places or any kind of parking arrangements.Superb – Cornelia from Romania – 1 July 2025 (9/10)
Great and rich breakfast, clean, helpful and polite receptionists and fairly close to the city centre

What could be improved: A tad far to old town which was only a problem due to heat waveI'd return. – Roisin from Italy – 29 June 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: The garage was incredibly tight.
Superb – Andrei from Russia – 24 June 2025 (9/10)
The location is pretty OK, the city centre is in 20 min walk. The room was much bigger than we expected. Amazing breakfast.
What could be improved: Some facilities were pretty old, but clean and functional. They are building a tram line in Bologna, and the street, where the hotel located was partially closed.Great location 👍👍 – Carol from United Kingdom – 13 June 2025 (9/10)
I t was nice to be able to eat on the breakfast terrace 👍
What could be improved: Omelets to order at breakfast?Comfortable place to stay and very good value for money. – Irena from United Kingdom – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
Have stayed here before and, although out of the centro storico, it is easy enough to get there, walking or taking bus. The room was very spacious. The breakfast room has a terrace if you like to sit outside.
The shower was amazing. – Valerie from Ireland – 5 June 2025 (9/10)
The room was perfect for our stay in Bologna. The shower was amazing. We like walking so walked to the centre of the city each day.

I would definitely recommend the hotel to my friends and happily return myself – Adrian from Romania – 2 June 2025 (9/10)
The breakfast was very good with very friendly staff, maybe some vegetables in addition would be nice. The bed very comfortable and the room was clean and with all facilities. Excellent location to experience the old city centre surroundings, within walking distance to central station.
