The location is kind of perfect in that understated Bologna way. You’re tucked between the hills (and I mean you can actually see them from the windows, not just glimpse them between buildings) and the centro storico, which means you get the best of both worlds without the tourist chaos around Piazza Maggiore. Via Valverde itself is one of those quiet residential streets where you’ll hear actual Italian conversations drifting from windows rather than tour groups. The Rizzoli hospital reference might sound odd, but honestly, it’s a landmark locals use – and having it nearby means the neighborhood has that authentic, working-city vibe rather than feeling like a museum district.

What really won me over was the morning routine you fall into here. There’s this little café about two blocks down where the owner will remember your order by day three, and the walk back up the gentle slope to the apartment feels… well, it feels like you live here temporarily. The space itself has those high ceilings and terrazzo floors that you’d expect from a 4-star place, but there’s nothing stuffy about it. The kitchen actually works (I made pasta twice, because when in Bologna, right?), and the bathroom has proper water pressure – travel writer confession: I always check that first. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you realize it’s not trying to be fancy; it’s just genuinely comfortable and well-thought-out.

I’ll be honest, parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but that’s Bologna for you – though the host gave solid advice about where to find spots. The only real downside is that you might find yourself extending your stay. I mean, there’s something about having a proper apartment base while you explore the city that changes how you experience it. You’re not rushing back to a hotel room; you’re going home to make an aperitivo and plan tomorrow’s osteria visits. For what it costs compared to the generic hotels near the train station, this feels like you’re getting let in on a local secret.

  Todo estaba muy bien, limpio, luminoso y un sistema de iluminación genial.

  What could be improved: Lo único que diría es que revisaran la batería de cocina, pues en este caso había un cazo que estaba rallado y se le iba el esmalte. Igual es mejor que sea de acero inoxidable.

  Stefano ist sehr zuvorkommend ,nett und immer gut erreichbar. Ihm ist es wichtig dass sich seine Gäste wohl fühlen. Sein Gästebuch Online ist sehr professionell und hilfreich. Die Unterkunft befindet sich in ruhiger Lage etwas den Berg hoch.

  We had a wonderful stay at the apartment, which was beautifully designed with great taste. The internet was excellent, and we really enjoyed making use of the Netflix account for guests, as well as playing the vinyl records – a real treat! Stefano was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond to our questions. The information provided to guests is top-notch – super useful and perfectly on point. We had a fantastic time and would happily return again! I realize this might sound like a cliché :), but it’s all absolutely true.

  Stylish and comfortable. Great facilities – full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine etc. Coffee machine with a generous allocation of coffee pods was lovely touch. We enjoyed the records! Terrific shower. Great bed. The accommodation is in a leafy part of Bologna and a nice walk into town.
  
  What could be improved: We found the digital check in disconcerting. When you “open” the room, everything opens, including windows. Once you understand this, it’s ok. However, when our phones were low on battery one evening, we were concerned we wouldn’t be able to access the property!

  I'm in love with this apartment, everything was perfect and clean, highly recommended. The owner was very polite, left the clear instruction and answer on all my questions quickly. Absolutely clean, big and very comfortable apartment with great location not far from the city center and amazing view. We had all necessary staff and even more, the owner left welcome gift for us.)
