You know what struck me first about SiBilla Suite Apartment? It’s tucked away on Via Piella – and I mean, if you know Bologna even a little, you’ll appreciate how perfectly positioned this is. You’re basically in the heart of the old city without being right on top of the tourist chaos. The building itself has that weathered Bologna charm, all terracotta and shutters, and you’ll climb to the second floor (which honestly feels more like the third if you’re American, but that’s Europe for you).

The apartment itself is… well, it’s genuinely impressive. I’ve stayed in a lot of places that call themselves “suites” and deliver glorified hotel rooms, but this actually feels like someone’s stylish Bologna pied-à-terre. The space has been renovated with real attention to detail – none of that IKEA-catalog feeling you get in so many short-term rentals. The kitchen is fully functional, which matters if you’re planning to hit the morning markets around Piazza Maggiore (about a ten-minute walk, by the way). The bathroom is modern without being sterile, and the bedroom has these lovely high ceilings that make everything feel airy despite being in a historic building.

What really sets this place apart though is the neighborhood knowledge you’ll accidentally absorb. Via Piella connects to some of Bologna’s most authentic streets – the ones where locals actually live and shop. There’s a fantastic osteria about two blocks away that doesn’t even have a sign, and you’re close enough to the university quarter to feel the city’s energy without the late-night noise. The building is surprisingly quiet for being so central, though you will hear the occasional Vespa in the morning (which I actually found charming, but might not be everyone’s cup of coffee). Parking is typical Bologna – meaning challenging – but the location makes up for it since you can walk everywhere that matters. The host clearly knows what they’re doing; check-in was smooth, and they left just enough local recommendations without overwhelming you with a novel-length guide. That 9.8 rating isn’t an accident – this is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in Bologna rather than just visiting it.

  The location was perfect looking out onto one of the few canals left in Bologna. It was easy to get to everywhere in the city by foot from the location. the apartment looked even better in real life and the hose Aurora provided all the details necessary. I would definitely recommend booking to stay here.

  What a beautiful apartment situated just over the canal in Bologna! The hosts were absolutely lovely and helpful in every way. The layout is interesting, not a cookie cutter place. I loved it. Super clean, tons of closet space and full of all the amenities and extras you will need for your stay. My friend group was on the last leg of our 2-week, 7-city Italian journey and this was the best apartment we stayed in by far. Highly recommend.

  The property is ideally situated within walking distance of all major attractions while still being conveniently close to the train station which provides access to the airport. The apartment itself is impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated, while being part of a historic building with beautiful views. The host, Camilla, was very welcoming and shared many helpful tips on what to see and where to dine.

  The apt is an absolute gem! location top, modern apt, and very confortable beds, bathroom.closets, safe, kitchen full equipped, all PERFECT! The hostess Camille such a nice and professional lady! she was expecting us and waiting to serve us and help us with resturants and guide us with tips to visit the city, even call a taxi for us, has been a real pleasure dealing with her. Location next to the restaurants and walking distance to the piazza and shops. For sure we will be back.

  The property was in a good location, was a very large sized rooms and space, nicely finished, full accommodations. The lodging was clean, furnishings were high class, and just overall a very high-end apartment. The host Camilla was the greatest host I have ever had. She was accommodating in every way, excellent communication, and willing to help with any and all travel plans. She provided recommendations and made the entire trip more enjoyable.
