So I stumbled across S.Orsola during one of those late-night booking sessions when everything decent in Bologna seemed booked solid, and honestly? Best accidental find ever. The place sits on Via Antonio Levanti, which – I’ll be straight with you – isn’t exactly in the postcard part of town, but that’s actually what makes it work. You’re in a real neighborhood where locals grab their morning coffee and kids kick footballs around after school.

The “Industrial Design Suite” name had me expecting some cold, concrete minimalist nightmare, but walking in was like stepping into someone’s incredibly stylish loft apartment. Think exposed brick that’s been painted white but still has character, sleek furniture that doesn’t sacrifice comfort for looks, and these gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with light. The bathroom – and this might sound weird but hear me out – has this rainfall shower that’s positioned perfectly so you can actually see the Bologna skyline while you’re in there. Small details like that make you realize someone really thought about how people actually use these spaces.

What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city. The building’s solid (you know how thin walls can ruin a trip), and the street itself doesn’t get the tourist foot traffic that’ll have you up at 2 AM listening to someone’s drunken philosophy session. Parking’s tricky – it’s Italy, so that’s no surprise – but there’s a garage about two blocks over that locals use, and the front desk actually knew the rates off the top of their head. Check-in was refreshingly normal too, none of that overly rehearsed hospitality theater you get at chain places.

The location works better than you’d think. Sure, you’re not stumbling out your door onto Piazza Maggiore, but you’re a fifteen-minute walk from the university area where all the good late-night spots are, and there’s this little alimentari right around the corner where the owner makes these incredible paninis that’ll ruin you for airport food forever. The train station’s close enough that you’re not dragging luggage across half the city, but far enough that you don’t hear the announcements at dawn.

I mean, look – it’s not perfect. The elevator’s one of those European phone-booth-sized things that’ll have you questioning your packing choices, and the air conditioning takes forever to kick in during summer months. But honestly? These feel like real problems in a real place, not the sterile perfection of somewhere that’s been focus-grouped to death. The 8.5 rating makes total sense – it’s the kind of place that does what it promises really well without trying to be everything to everyone. You’ll sleep great, the shower’s fantastic, and you’ll actually want to hang out in the room instead of just crashing there. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Nice apartment not far from the city center. Nearby is a bus stop, which takes 10-15 minutes to the center. There are grocery stores nearby.

  The flat is very well equipped an great for a family. The host is very helpful and is answering for any questions immediately. The location is very good, not far from the station and close to the bus stop. I really recommend this place to stay in Bologna.

  What could be improved: Problemi sa online checkingom, neudobni kreveti jer se zapravo radi o apartmanu za dvoje odraslih i jedno malo dijete na pomoćnom ležaju a nas je bilo dvoje starijih i dvoje starije djece. Usprkos obećanju ipak nije bilo toaletnog papira i tuš gela, nezgodno ako dođete kasnije do apartmana., a za takvu cijenu to je minimum standard.

  The access to the apartment uses an automated solution to check-in and open the doors. It’s near to some simple but very good pizza, Italian food and market places.
