You’re basically staying in what feels like a proper Bologna apartment, except it’s on the fifth floor of this modern building that’s way nicer inside than you’d guess from the street.

The location is honestly perfect if you know Bologna at all. I mean, you’re right in the thick of things without being stuck in some touristy bubble. The train station is close enough that you can actually walk there with luggage (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with Bologna’s narrow streets), but you’re not hearing constant announcements or dealing with that station chaos. What I really loved was how easy it was to slip into the local rhythm – there’s this fantastic morning market just a few blocks away, and you’ll find yourself grabbing fresh bread and coffee like you actually live there. The apartment setup means you can store stuff properly and even make a simple breakfast, which honestly saves you from the overpriced hotel breakfast trap.

The building itself feels more residential than hotel-like, which I actually preferred. The elevator is one of those tiny European ones that makes you question your packing choices, but hey, that’s part of the charm. The apartment was surprisingly spacious for Bologna standards – and I say this as someone who’s stayed in plenty of cramped places around the city center. The kitchen area isn’t huge, but it’s functional enough if you want to grab some of that amazing mortadella from the market and make a quick meal. What really sold me was the attention to details that matter – good water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss this can be in Italian apartments), proper heating, and windows that actually keep the street noise down. Bologna can get pretty lively at night, especially around the university areas, but I slept well here.

The whole experience felt more authentic than your typical hotel stay. You’re not dealing with a stuffy lobby or formal check-in procedures – it’s more like a friend letting you crash at their place, except everything actually works and it’s clean. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and well-executed. That 8.2 rating makes sense too – it does what it promises without any major surprises, good or bad. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Bologna rather than just visiting it, this is your spot. Plus, and this is crucial, you can actually get to the airport or train connections without it being a whole production. Sometimes the practical stuff matters more than the fancy amenities, you know?

  The location is perfect for travelling outside of the city and also within walking distance of the main square. Pretty good bed & couch, you can see all the planes landing in Bologna from the balcony. It’s an ok place to stay for just a few nights.
  
  What could be improved: If you sleep in the kitchen on the sofa and you have the misfortune to have people staying the apartment next to you, you are screwed. You can hear EVERYTHING. I could not sleep for 3 nights cause there were people yelling late at night and early in the morning. We had an issue with the shower, we could only get boiling hot water. I wrote to the host but they replied a day later only saying they informed the office and that was it. Same about the noise from next door. There could also have been some coffee pods for us but nothing was provided and we could not find the right size at the supermarket nearby.

  What could be improved: It was a self catering apartment which needed a bit of love and care. The welcome pack consisted of 4 coffee capsules not even enough for breakfast over 3 days. No washing up liquid, 3 dishwasher tabs. No milk, water, biscuits. When you arrive by plane you can’t bring these things with you, and so it was impossible to do basic things without a big shop first. The comfy beds saved this apartment .

  I loved the location, the proximity to the city center and to the train station. The bad in the bedroom was very comfortable. The bathroom is very nice and spacious.

  The location is nice, just in front of the Central Station at the edge of the old town, and a walking distance to the center. Nice complex of buildings with coffee bars and shops in the middle. The apartment is spacious and bright and freshly renovated. It has everything you might need.
  
  What could be improved: The sofa bed was dirty and not comfortable to sleep on. Since we were 5 people 2 of us had to sleep on the sofa. We contacted the rental company and the next day a cleaning service came and cleaned up the sofa and changed the sheets that were on it. All the sheets and towels had a bad smell of vinegar.
