I mean, yes, you’re literally on Via De’ Giudei in the heart of Bologna’s old Jewish quarter, but it’s this quiet little street that most visitors just walk past without realizing what they’re missing. The building itself has this understated elegance – it’s not trying too hard to be boutique-y, which I honestly appreciate after staying at so many places that feel like Instagram sets.

The thing about this place is it gets the balance right. You’re a three-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but when you close your windows at night, you actually get some peace and quiet. Bologna can be surprisingly noisy, especially during university term time, but this little pocket stays relatively calm. The staff – and this might sound small but it matters – they actually know the neighborhood. Not just the obvious stuff like where to find the best tortellini (though they’ll point you toward Osteria del Sole if you ask), but practical things like which pharmacy stays open late or where to grab decent coffee before 7 AM. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable, with that Italian attention to detail that shows up in weird places like really good hangers and bathroom fixtures that actually work properly.

What really won me over, though, is how it feels like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend. The breakfast setup is simple but they source things locally, and you’ll often see Italian business travelers there, which is always a good sign. The area comes alive differently depending on when you visit – during the academic year, you’ll hear students chatting in the nearby cafés, but in summer it’s more mellow, with older residents sitting outside in the early evenings. If you’re the type who likes to wander (and honestly, Bologna is perfect for that), you’re positioned right where the medieval streets start getting interesting, away from the main tourist flow but close enough that you can duck into the action whenever you want. The 9.2 rating isn’t inflated – it’s just a place that does what it promises without any drama, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to actually experience a city rather than just photograph it.

  Amazing location, comfortable large space with all amenities. Suited us well. Bed comfortable. Felt very safe. Check in a breeze.
  
  What could be improved: A few little things they could improve on, only 2 coffee pods for a 4 night stay, no tea bags at all, only 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for the 4 days( had to buy our own) . Rubbish( Trash) had to be taken out by yourself to street bins, had to walk 500m to find one. Not fun on your check out day. One thin towel each. Still had to carry bags up a flight and a half to get to room. Lift only went to second floor. Refrigerator was off when we arrived.

  It's a very comfortable and clean apartment in the very heart of the city with the view of Due Torri from the window. There was everything needed, the bed is large and comfortable, it was warm (which is not obvious for Italy in February) and I felt very safe. What's more – it was very silent despite the central location.

  What could be improved: For the price we paid, we were a bit disappointed in some of the quality issues in the apartment that we used for a 5 day stay. Not enough toilet paper, no kleenex tissue, thin towels, need a coffee table to set a coffee down when sitting on a couch
