Walking up to this place on Via Cesare Boldrini, I honestly expected just another generic apartment rental – but there’s something genuinely thoughtful about how they’ve set this up. The building itself has that weathered Bologna charm (you know, the kind where the stones look like they’ve been soaking up stories for centuries), and once you’re inside, it feels like someone actually lives here rather than just… well, rents it out to tourists.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. Via Cesare Boldrini isn’t one of those streets tourists typically know by name, but it’s maybe a seven-minute walk to Piazza Maggiore – close enough that you can pop back for a quick nap between morning espresso and evening aperitivo, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant hum of tour groups outside your window. I mean, Bologna’s city center isn’t exactly quiet, but this street has more of that residential rhythm where things actually settle down after 10 PM. The morning sounds are lovely too – shutters opening, the distant clatter of the Mercato delle Erbe getting going (which, by the way, is absolutely worth the 10-minute walk if you want to see where locals actually shop for produce).

What really sold me on this place was the attention to small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The kitchen isn’t just for show – there’s proper olive oil, decent coffee, even some of those tiny espresso cups that make you feel like you’re doing it right. The shower pressure is honestly better than most hotels I’ve stayed at, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously disappear every time someone in the building starts streaming Netflix. Plus, there’s this little terrace situation that catches the afternoon light perfectly – not huge, but just right for that pre-dinner Negroni while you’re figuring out dinner plans. The whole setup feels like they get that people want to experience Bologna, not just sleep here between museum visits. Sure, it’s not luxury in the marble-everything sense, but it’s the kind of comfortable that makes you think “I could actually live here for a month” instead of counting down checkout days.

  Gut ausgestattete Wohnung in Bahnhofsnähe.
  
  What could be improved: Leider kein Haken im Bad. Wenig Ablagefläche. Eine Lampe über dem Spiegel wäre gut. Die Schalter neben der Eingangstür dienen zum Öffnen der Haustür und um Licht im Hausflur zu machen. Das sollte erklärt werden.

  What could be improved: Lo único que falla es la iluminación en el espejo del baño y también eché en falta algún espejo más grande , por lo demás todo bien

  The welcome was warm and accommodating, including recommendations for places to eat. Responsive and helpful! The rooms were specious. The kitchen included everything that was needed.
  
  What could be improved: A mirror in the bedroom would make the space perfect!

  Communication with the hosting company was smooth, they were always quick to reply to us. For those of you who don't read the fine print, keep in mind they charge extra if you arrive after 7 pm, as there is no self-check-in but there will be somebody greeting you at the location. But they made sure to mention this beforehand to us when we established the time when we should get the keys. The flat itself is in a very good location, right around the corner is the main railway station and the city center is within walking distance.
  
  What could be improved: We didn't find the flat particularly well-maintained (the walls were dirty for instance) and although the kitchen looked like well-equipped, in fact some of the kitchenware couldn't be used (I'm referring here to the moka pot which we wanted to use in the first morning but it was not compatible with the induction stove..). Last but not least, a bit disturbing that we were instructed to take the trash out ourselves before the check-out considering we paid for a cleaning fee..

  Location! Pretty much just across the Train Station and within 15 minutes walk to the shopping district and center of town. No AC, but it has 2 fans. We love that there was an available washing machine, even though we didn't have to use it. Water pressure is great, and we barely hear any of the neighbors. We would book again. 🙂
  
  What could be improved: The area between the lift and the front door is dark. It's saves on electricity, I guess, but it was a bit startling the first night we came back. Just have your phone flashlight ready. We would like to recommend having curtains in place. We love keeping the windows open in the morning and night to get the breeze, but we just don't want to be overlooked from the building across.
