What really sets this place apart is the neighborhood itself. You’re right in Saragozza, which locals will tell you is one of the most livable areas in Bologna. There’s this fantastic little osteria about two blocks away where university professors grab lunch, and the morning market on Via Saragozza (literally right around the corner) is where actual Bolognese families do their shopping. The porticoes here are less crowded than the main touristy ones, so you can actually enjoy that famous Bologna covered walkway experience without dodging selfie sticks every five seconds. Plus – and this is huge if you’re planning to explore – you’re perfectly positioned to start the San Luca pilgrimage walk, which winds up through the hills with those incredible views everyone raves about.

The practical stuff matters too, and honestly, they’ve got it figured out. Check-in was smooth, the place is genuinely quiet at night (those thick Italian walls do their job), and there’s actually decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in Bologna. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just works really well. I mean, the shower has proper water pressure, the bed is comfortable without being too soft, and the wifi actually handles video calls, which is more than I can say for plenty of places.

What I loved most was how it strikes this perfect balance – you feel like you’re living in Bologna rather than just visiting it. In the morning, you’ll hear the neighborhood coming to life, smell fresh bread from the bakery down the street, and maybe catch the local barista setting up for the day.   Marcello, who greeted us, was lovely and I can't fault him.
  
  What could be improved: the fridge didn't work and all the food we bought went off. The plug in the bathroom for the hairdryer didn't work unless you held it in. The shower in the upstairs bathroom had black stuff all around the shower and didn't feel healthy.

  What could be improved: The thermostat was in a closet right next to the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi search to heat up the temperature next to the thermostat so it did not read correctly. It was impossible to get the temperature right in this very cold apartment without leaving the doors to the closet open, it was made more difficult by the fact that a hallway window had been left open before we arrived that we didn’t notice until the second day.

  We loved this modern apartment. It is very big and fits 6 people comfortably. The living area and outdoor space are also great. Couldn't fault the apartment at all.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside was that the parking the most suggested was incredibly expensive. Some more recommendations of where to park would have been useful.

  Spacious, modern apartment, with well appointed kitchen, modern baths, sunny, with outdoor patio. The bedrooms were large and comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: The bedrooms have no closets, only a dresser and coat rack. One bedroom has an open hanging shelf but no dresser. For a week stay we like to unpack our suitcases and out clothes away. An armoire and dresser in each bedroom would be more accommodating. The key system in complicated and if you stay in the apartment without keys you either can’t get out or the top doors are unlocked.

  What could be improved: While our overall experience at the apartment was exceptional, there were a couple of minor observations worth mentioning. The spaciousness of the apartment contributed to it feeling a bit colder initially, and it took some time to reach the desired temperature. Additionally, having slippers available for guests would have been a thoughtful touch.
  However, it's important to emphasize that these are merely minor observations that in no way detracted from the overall enjoyment of our stay. The remarkable qualities of the place far outweighed these small considerations, and we would gladly return to this wonderful apartment in the future.
