The apartment itself has that perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort that’s honestly hard to find in Bologna’s historic center. The ceilings are high with those beautiful exposed beams you’d expect in a building this old, but the kitchen is actually well-equipped (not just a hot plate and mini-fridge like some places) and the WiFi works reliably – crucial if you’re trying to upload all those photos of tortellini. The furnishings feel thoughtfully chosen rather than just thrown together, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. I particularly loved the windows that open wide to let in the morning light and those distinctly Italian street sounds that somehow become soothing after a day or two.

What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you get from staying here. You’re literally around the corner from some of Bologna’s best osterie that most tourists never find because they’re not obviously marked. The morning market at Mercato delle Erbe is a pleasant five-minute stroll, and you can grab fresh ingredients for breakfast without dealing with the crowds that descend on the more central areas later in the day. Parking can be tricky in this part of the centro storico – well, it’s tricky everywhere in Bologna’s center, let’s be honest – but the hosts provide clear instructions about the nearest options. The neighborhood gets genuinely quiet at night, which is a blessing when you’re trying to sleep off all that incredible Bolognese food. Check-in was smooth, with clear communication beforehand about timing and keys. At 8.2 rating, it’s not perfect (the shower pressure could be stronger, and the stairs to the apartment are a bit steep), but these are the kind of minor trade-offs you accept for staying in a beautifully preserved medieval building in one of Italy’s most authentic cities. This is the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re living in Bologna rather than just visiting it.

  What could be improved: Le stoviglie, o meglio i bicchieri pochi, ogni volta che lo usavamo dovevamo subirto lavarlo; le pentole non proprio pulitissime; essendo con finestre altre poca luce; lavasciuga: non funziona molto bene l'asciugatura e non sapevavo dove tendere.

  The property is as it looks on the pictures and is in a good part of town – with access to a cool neighbourhood. It also had a nice layout.
  
  What could be improved: The property is a little dark and tired. The ceiling on the mezzanine is low and I banged my head a lot. The stairs felt a little risky as well. In the bathroom you can’t use the second shower head. We also had a bit of an annoying check in where we had to leave so it could be cleaned. The lock on the main door to the apt itself has a knack to it, which was a bit annoying

  La ubicación del apartamento es excelente, a un paso de todo el centro. El apartamento es muy cómodo, con una mesita y sillas en un patio exterior.

  What could be improved: Manque d'ustensiles 1 tasse à café, 2 verres 1 petit cuillère alors que nous étions 4.
  Lorsqu'on paie 60€ de ménage obligatoire, on s'attend à un logement impeccable mais tout n'était pas super propre
  Nous étions en plein centre de Bologne, le seul problème est pour ce garer, nous avions une voiture de location mais nous avons eu 2 amendes pour mauvais stationnement alors nous étions dans des zones bleu et que nous avions payer le parc mètre.
  Nous avons fini par laisser la voiture en face du logement en espérons ne plus de prendre d'amende

  The location and apartment was good value for money. Only 500 metres from Quick Parking. Our Host, Federico was exceptionally helpful and well informed. Well maintained, nice space and would comfortably accommodate a family of five. Safe and less than a 5 minute walk to the centre of why you came.
