Navile, Bologna By Short Holidays Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Navile, Bologna By Short Holidays, you immediately get the sense that this four-star property knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s tucked away in the Lame district on Via della Beverara, which honestly feels like discovering a well-kept secret — close enough to everything that matters in Bologna but far enough from the tourist crowds that you can actually breathe. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you rather than just going through the motions.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in a real Bologna neighborhood where locals actually live and work, not some sanitized tourist bubble. The Lame area gives you authentic glimpses of daily Italian life, with small cafes and shops that haven’t been designed for Instagram. You can walk to the historic center in about 20 minutes, or there’s decent public transport if you’re not feeling the stroll. What really sets this place apart though is the free parking on site — and if you’ve ever tried to park in Bologna’s center, you’ll know this is basically like finding gold.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed without being fussy about it. Everything worked properly — which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. The bed was genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the bathroom had good water pressure (again, these details matter when you’re actually staying somewhere). There’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped, and the windows actually open, which I always appreciate. The decor strikes that sweet spot between modern and cozy without trying to make some grand design statement.
Dining & Neighborhood Eats
While the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, this actually works in your favor because you’re surrounded by authentic local spots that most tourists never find. There’s a fantastic trattoria just two blocks away that serves the kind of tortellini that makes you understand why Bolognese people are so proud of their food. The hotel staff — and this is where their local knowledge really shines — will point you toward places where you’ll be eating alongside Bologna residents, not other travelers taking photos of their pasta.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here is the combination of genuine hospitality and that rare feeling of staying somewhere that hasn’t been focus-grouped to death. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that you can have romantic dinners at neighborhood places without fighting crowds of tour groups. The 8.2 rating reflects what you experience — solid comfort, helpful service, and that intangible sense that you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about your experience rather than just processing you through. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your next Bologna trip before you’ve even checked out.
Hotels near me in Bologna deliver quick strolls to Piazza Maggiore concerts, portico-shaded bookstores, and artisan gelato counters.

Posizione e grandezza della casa
What could be improved: La lavatrice non funzionavaCasa bellissima, nuova e pulita. Ci torneremo! – Ilaria from Italy – 2 March 2025 (8/10)
La casa è accogliente e nuova. Molto pulita e ad un passo da fermate dell'autobus che in un quarto d'ora ti portano al centro città. È presente un biliardino molto gradito ai bambini. Gli spazi sono ben pensati e i letti piuttosto comodi.
What could be improved: Con una piccola accortezza in più l'accoglienza sarebbe risultata molto più calorosa. Very good – Dovilė from Lithuania – 23 February 2025 (8/10)
Good location, big apartment.
What could be improved: The premises were quite dusty, with large cobwebs hanging in the corners. The electricity was out for a while.Elisa from Italy – 10 February 2025 (7/10)

What could be improved: Qualche rifornimento in più a casa riguardo la cartaigienica e i tovaglioliEine sehr schöne Zeit in einer tollen Wohnung und einer interessanten Stadt. – Grzegorz from Germany – 23 July 2024 (9/10)
Nice stay – Eric from Switzerland – 16 February 2024 (8/10)
