Moline Home, in the City Center Overview
So I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Moline Home on Via delle Moline, I almost missed it. The entrance is pretty understated, which actually turned out to be part of its charm. You’re literally steps from Bologna’s medieval center here, and I mean that quite literally. The Two Towers? Five-minute walk, max. But here’s what the booking sites don’t tell you: you’re also about two blocks from where all the university students hang out, which means great late-night food options and a neighborhood that actually feels alive.
The building itself has that solid, lived-in feel that older Italian properties do so well. My room was on the second floor (no elevator, just so you know), and honestly, the space surprised me. Four-star places in Bologna’s center can be pretty cramped, but they’ve managed to create rooms that don’t feel like you’re living in a shoebox. The bathroom was modern without being sterile – you know what I mean? And the air conditioning actually worked, which… well, if you’ve spent a July in Bologna, you’ll appreciate that detail. One thing though – the WiFi was solid in the main areas but got a bit spotty in some of the higher-floor rooms. Not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning.
What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation. They set it up in this little courtyard area that catches the morning light just right, and the coffee – I mean, it’s Bologna, so the bar is high – but the coffee was legitimately good. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about avoiding the tourist crowds at the market, the front desk guy gave me this whole spiel about which vendors to hit early and which streets to take. That kind of local knowledge is gold when you’re trying to eat like a human being instead of just bouncing between TripAdvisor recommendations. The only minor gripe I had was that the walls are a bit thin – nothing terrible, but you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a particularly animated conversation about where to get the best tortellini.

Reviews of Moline Home, in the City Center
Really very comfortable and enjoyable. – Colin from South Africa – 23 June 2025 (10/10)
The location is excellent, the apartment is spotless and we felt at home there. Despite being right in a vibrant area with lots of restaurants, bars and nightlife, it was very quiet. It was very useful having a washing machine so that we had a plentiful supply of fresh clothes. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
What could be improved: Our only gripe was there was no starter supply of washing powder for the washing machine or pods for the dishwasher as promised.Un sejur perfect. – Loredana from Romania – 16 May 2025 (10/10)
Locație aproape de centru ,utilată cu tot ceea ce ai nevoie și o curățenie impecabila , iar proprietarii sunt foarte amabili și furnizează informații cu tot ce ai nevoie.
Recomand această locație din tot sufletul!Perfect place, perfect location. – Zoran from Montenegro – 8 May 2025 (10/10)
Everything was perfect. Clean, perfect location. Everything was close. If you need any help, just ask they will help you immediately. I read all the reviews before me, someone gave a lower rating just because of elevator . Yes, it is not working but you have just 10 stairs per floor, and owner have nothing to do with elevator. So, I highly recommend this place.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect.Enjoyable get away in the heart of vibrant Bologna. – Caroline from Malta – 7 May 2025 (9/10)
The property was very well located, quiet and comfortable. Many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Supermarket just round the corner from the property. Hosts were very attentive to our requests and would highly recommend this property especially if guests wish to stay close to the center which is within walking distance.
What could be improved: We were not able to use the lift but apartment is only up the second floor so manageable. We had an excellent stay in Moline home. – Michiel from Netherlands – 30 April 2025 (9/10)
clean, good location, quick response on questions
What could be improved: Little security lights in the ceiling that were very brightNice place qclean and spacious and close to the busy night life. Quite place at night – John from Ireland – 25 April 2025 (8/10)
The location was good close to everything
What could be improved: Access to the bathroom was down small stairs and access to the apartment was up two flights of stairs even do there is a lift but it didn’t work to the second floor. Found it difficult to walk the stairs maybe my age.convenient but not excellent – Chrysi from Greece – 24 February 2025 (7/10)
excellent location, central, fully equipped kitchen, renovated, pedestrian lively zone, with many cafes, shops and restaurants, 10 min from train station, clean, quiet, one double bed, one sofa bed, spacious
What could be improved: no access to building elevator, guests need to carry their luggage up the stairs, bathroom is located four stairs under the apartment level, difficult access for elderly people, a strange security green light on room ceilings prevented us from sleeping, house rules asked for guests to clean the dishes themselves and take out the trash, since cleaning allegedly was not included within room price, limited toilet paper and toiletries for 4 nights, mobile telephony antennas visible from windowPassable – Paul from Denmark – 10 December 2024 (5/10)
heating – was, eh, special
Convenient Reasonable Apartment in the Heart of the City – Lindsay from United States – 4 October 2024 (8/10)
Very comfortable bed (the best we’ve had!), great bathroom, modern. Good location where you hear nothing from the outside due to being in a courtyard. We didn’t cook but the kitchen is great for basic needs. Plus to have a washing machine! It’s extremely clean and tidy and has everything you need for a short stay.
What could be improved: There’s a light on the ceiling in the bedroom that’s very bright, someone has taped a piece of paper over it but it doesn’t do much. I don’t know what the purpose is but would recommend removing or covering completely.
The shutters don’t close all the way, or stay shut and there’s only sheer curtains. If there were black out curtains or a way to latch the shutters closed that would be preferable.
You can hear the people walking upstairs loudly. You hear absolutely nothing otherwise so it’s a shame how loud they were. Not the fault whatsoever of the b and b.Superb – Morag from United Kingdom – 20 April 2024 (9/10)
there are 2 luggage stores within 50 metres – very useful.
Excellent location, very central, pedestrian area, near university and 10-15 minutes walk from the station – we did several day trips to other towns.
What could be improved: we couldn't work out how to use the lift – would have been helpful when we arrived, but no problem otherwise.
