The name actually makes sense – it really is minimal and chic, tucked away on Via di Casaglia in this lovely residential pocket of Bologna that feels worlds away from the tourist crowds. I mean, you’re still only a 15-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but the Saragozza neighborhood has this quiet, tree-lined vibe that honestly made me want to extend my stay.

The whole “green retreat” thing isn’t just marketing speak either. There’s something genuinely calming about the space – maybe it’s the way natural light filters through the windows, or how they’ve managed to keep things uncluttered without making it feel sterile. The design is that perfect kind of minimalist where everything has its place, but you don’t feel like you’re going to break something expensive if you actually, you know, live there for a few days. And can we talk about how refreshing it is to find a place that doesn’t charge extra for WiFi and parking? The WiFi actually works properly too (I was on video calls without issues), and the parking situation is a genuine lifesaver in Bologna – trust me, you don’t want to deal with finding street parking in the centro storico.

What really sold me on this place was the location intelligence. You’re close enough to walk to all the good stuff – there’s this fantastic little osteria about two blocks away that locals actually eat at, and you can catch the bus to the train station without any hassle. But here’s the thing: you’re positioned perfectly to avoid the noise and chaos of the main tourist areas. The street is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with windows open (rare in Italian cities, honestly), and there’s something really satisfying about starting your day with a proper espresso at the neighborhood bar instead of fighting crowds at some overpriced café near the towers. The owners clearly know Bologna well – they’ve got this balance figured out where you feel like you’re experiencing the real city, not just passing through it. That 9.6 rating makes total sense when you stay here; it’s one of those places where all the small details just work together seamlessly.

  Very nice location in a quite neighborhood, especially ideal if you want to ride your bicycle around the neighboring hills. The apartment is cosy and well equipped. Our host was super friendly, responsive and flexible.

  The attention to detail was a delight, Jessica really thought of everything. Jessica met us when we arrived, she was warm, helpful and very personable. The apartment is set back from the street in an adorable secret garden. We felt like we weren't even in the city, very private and lush.
  The shower was perfect, the air conditioning was easy and the bed was very comfortable.

  We had a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. We had a small issue when we first arrived, but as soon as we reached out, she responded quickly and helped us right away. The place itself was lovely—very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It truly felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast she prepared for us—it was such a nice touch and made our first morning extra special. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming stay!
  
  What could be improved: The only thing that would have made the stay absolutely perfect would be access to a washing machine. Other than that, everything was fantastic.

  Gorgeous apartment, attention to all little details, quiet area, perfect garden – you will not want to go inside in the evening! Just across the street you also have a very nice park, you can walk to city center, but there are also direct buses to center area and central station . Jessica, the owner, is the best host that I have ever met, she offered us much more than we expected!

  Minimal Chic House was the perfect place to explore Bologna as well as surrounding cities, in a quiet location with shops and cafe's within a 5-10min walk, as well as a bus stop which takes you to the main train station in 10-15min. The property is beautifully decorated and the garden is an additional bonus. The flat has everything you may need and feels like home! I would highly recommend this place and hope to come back one day 🙂

  Wery cozy apartment. Has all the necessary facilities and more, plus private parking in the yard in the same street. The host is very nice and left us pasta, wine, sauces and more food :). Not quite in central area but at walking distance from center. Quite area, a good night's sleep.
