You know what struck me first about Magnolia Apartments? It’s tucked away on Via Calabria in this really authentic Bologna neighborhood where you actually hear Italian being spoken on the streets, not just tourist chatter. I mean, you’re in Savena — which honestly, most visitors skip over for the historic center — but that’s exactly why I loved it here. The morning walk to grab coffee at the local bar around the corner felt like being let in on a secret that only locals know about.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, and I’m talking about real living space, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into your suitcase every two minutes. What really got me was the attention to detail — the kind of stuff that makes you think someone actually lives here and cares about the place. The kitchen setup is proper functional (I actually cooked a few meals), and the bathroom has this great shower pressure that you don’t always get in older Italian buildings. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t spend the first night tossing around trying to find a good position, which… well, if you’ve stayed in enough places, you know that’s not always guaranteed.

Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites don’t really tell you — you’re maybe fifteen minutes by bus from Piazza Maggiore, but you’re also right near these fantastic local spots that tourists never find. There’s this incredible osteria about three blocks away where the nonna still makes pasta by hand, and the prices are what locals pay, not tourist prices. Plus, parking is actually manageable here (try finding that in the centro storico), and the streets are quiet enough that you can sleep with the windows open in summer without hearing scooters revving all night. The building itself sits on a tree-lined street that gets this gorgeous afternoon light, especially if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the apartments facing south. I spent way too many evenings just sitting by the window with a glass of wine, watching the neighborhood wind down for the day. It’s the kind of place where you start feeling like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist passing through — and honestly, that’s exactly what made my Bologna experience feel so much more authentic than I expected.

  Consigliatissimo.. la proprietaria molto gentile, disponibilità e dalla massima serietà. Struttura comoda ( letti comodissimi), zona servita da attività commerciali e mezzi pubblici (lontanuccia dal centro di Bologna) contesto tranquillo. Pulizia eccelsa. Niente di negativo, veramente piacevole il soggiorno. Stanze tutte climitizzate!
