You know what? I walked past this place on Via Galliera about three times before realizing it was actually where I was staying – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building blends seamlessly into one of Bologna’s most authentic neighborhoods, just a few blocks from Piazza Maggiore but far enough away that you’re not dodging tour groups every time you step outside. The street itself is this lovely mix of local cafés and century-old buildings that haven’t been Disney-fied for tourists yet.

The apartment itself surprised me – I mean, when you hear “luxurious apartment in the heart of Bologna,” you kind of expect something trying too hard to be fancy, but this place actually delivers on the promise without being pretentious about it. The space feels genuinely Italian, not like some generic luxury rental. The ceilings are high enough to make you feel grand but not so high that the place echoes when you talk. What really got me was the attention to details that actually matter – the shower has proper water pressure (you’d be amazed how many beautiful Italian places fail at this), the kitchen has real coffee equipment, and the beds are firm in that European way that somehow leaves you feeling more rested than those marshmallow mattresses you find elsewhere.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Bologna like someone who actually lives here. There’s this little osteria about two minutes away where the owner remembers your wine preference after one visit, and the morning market on Via Ugo Bassi is close enough that you can grab fresh bread and prosciutto without it being a whole expedition. I loved that I could walk to the university area in ten minutes – the energy around there is infectious, especially in the evenings when students spill out of the bars onto the medieval streets. The train station is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, which means you’re connected to Florence or Milan without being stuck in that slightly gritty area right around Centrale. Fair warning though – the street can get a bit lively on weekend nights, but it’s more charming than disruptive, and the windows are solid enough that it never kept me awake. The 8.2 rating feels about right; it’s not quite perfect (the WiFi occasionally hiccupped, and I wish there was a proper balcony instead of just windows), but it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked a room.

  It was in a perfect location, not far from the centre but quiet during the evening. It was comfortable, spacious apartment for 3 of us. The host was very accessible and helpful.
