Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Via Alessandro Stoppato – it’s one of those quiet residential streets that you’d probably walk past without noticing if you weren’t looking for it. But that’s actually what makes Light & Colours Apartment so great. You’re tucked away in a proper Bologna neighborhood, about a 15-minute walk from the historic center, where locals are doing their grocery shopping and kids are playing in the courtyard below. The building itself has that classic Italian apartment feel – you know, the kind with the heavy wooden doors and marble steps that echo when you climb up.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s been put together inside. The name isn’t just some random marketing thing – there’s genuinely great natural light streaming through these tall windows, and whoever decorated this place actually has an eye for color. The living spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. I mean, you’ve got modern amenities (the wifi is solid, thank god) but it doesn’t feel like a corporate hotel room. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – I actually cooked a few meals there using ingredients from the Mercato delle Erbe, which is maybe a 10-minute walk away. Speaking of walking, you’re close enough to Via del Pratello that you can stumble back after a night out, but far enough that you won’t hear the bar crowds when you’re trying to sleep.

The hosts clearly know what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, they gave me actual recommendations (not just the tourist traps), and when I had a question about the washing machine, they responded within like 20 minutes. That 9.6 rating isn’t just because the place looks good in photos; it’s because they’ve figured out all those little details that make a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The shower pressure is excellent, there’s plenty of storage space, and – this might sound weird but it matters – the bed is actually comfortable, not just decorative. You’re also right near the bus lines that’ll take you to the train station, which is clutch if you’re doing a multi-city trip. Bologna’s not huge, but having a proper base in a real neighborhood rather than some touristy area near the towers? That’s what made this stay memorable for me.

  Giorgio was helpful at all the time.
  As I hired a car to visit other cities too, localization was perfect (easy to reach highway, 5-10 mins to bus stop to reach Bologna and not warry about parking in city center).
  The apartment is spacious and warm (I was there in Feb).
  There are shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity so you can easily reach them by foot.
  To summarize, very good location to visit/stay in Bologna.

  Giorgio is amazing host. He allowed us to check in much earlier and met us on the front of the building. Gave us all the details about the apartment and all the attractions, restaurants and park in Bologna.
  
  The apartment is very spaceful and super clean. It has air conditioning in each room which is unusual in the whole trip. The functional kitchen and washing machine were very useful for us.

  Giorgio is a really nice guy and did us great favour by letting us enter the appartment before 15h, much appreciated. The appartment is in a perfect location, only 20 min by bus to Bologna city center, the bus station is 2 min away. Free parking is also available near by the public garden, recommended once again by Giorgio. The appartment is big, cosy and has everything one needs. Giorgio also gave us very nice addresses for food, ice cream and other in Bologna and in the area. I strongly recommend!
