When I first pulled up to King 35, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked away in Borgo Panigale, which isn’t exactly the postcard-perfect center of Bologna, but that turned out to be part of its charm. This four-star hotel has this understated elegance that grows on you, and the fact that there’s actually parking right on site (and it’s free!) immediately put me in a good mood. You know how rare that is in Italian cities. The location offers a perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I really appreciated about staying here — you’re close enough to Bologna’s historic center without dealing with the tourist chaos every single day. The area feels authentically Italian, with local cafes and shops that aren’t trying to sell you overpriced souvenirs. I mean, you can reach the city center easily enough, but there’s something refreshing about coming back to a quieter neighborhood in the evenings. Plus, if you’re flying in or out, the airport is practically next door, which saved me a lot of stress on departure day. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of local Bologna life.

The Room Experience

My room was honestly better than I expected from the photos online. The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and Italian style — nothing too flashy, but everything works well. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually delivers decent water pressure. What really impressed me was how quiet everything was, considering you’re not far from the airport. The soundproofing is clearly something they’ve invested in. Every detail contributes to a restful stay.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel restaurant surprised me — I was planning to eat out every night, but ended up dining there twice because the food was actually quite good. They do this modern take on Emilian cuisine that doesn’t feel touristy at all. The staff genuinely knows their wine list too, which matters when you’re in this region. Breakfast was solid without being extraordinary, but they had proper espresso and fresh pastries, so I can’t complain. The culinary offerings reflect regional authenticity and care.

What really sets King 35 apart is how it handles the details that matter to actual travelers. The staff remembers your name after the first day, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, and there’s this relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel like you can just breathe. I can see why couples rate it so highly — it’s got that sweet spot of being comfortable and romantic without trying too hard. You’re getting genuine Italian hospitality here, not some corporate hotel experience that could be anywhere in the world. This hotel delivers an authentic, memorable experience.

  L'appartamento corrisponde con le foto e le descrizioni, pulito, spazioso, in cucina la proprietaria ci ha fatto trovare una bottiglia di acqua fresca in frigorifero al nostro arrivo, fette biscottate con marmellate per la colazione e l'aria condizionata già accesa. Buona la posizione per andare a vedere il Museo della Ducati a piedi. Abbiamo apprezzato la disponibilità di Elisa nel check out tardivo per finire di vedere il Museo e la fabbrica. Il bagno è ristrutturato e ampio con anche la lavatrice.

  Prekrasan stan sa privatnim parkingom. Stan je jako dobro opremljen i besprijekorno čist i uredan. Vlasnica stana je vrlo draga i uvijek spremna pomoći. Nećete pogriješiti ako odaberete baš ovaj smještaj.

  Appartamento pulitissimo e ottimamente arredato, completo di tutti i servizi per cucina e bagno. Corredato anche delle necessità di base per cucinare, es. Olio, sale, caffè ecc. Sicuramente lo prenoterei in un prossimo viaggio a Bologna.

  La struttura è super pulita e accogliente. La proprietaria gentilissima.. abita in un appartamento allo stesso piano e quindi x qualsiasi cosa è sempre disponibile. L alloggio è a 10 min dall unipol arena quindi ottimo come soggiorno x un concerto. Parcheggio privato incluso. La casa ha un bagno, una camera da letto e un soggiorno con divano letto che sembra un letto matrimoniale, comodissimo. Inoltre c è anche la cucina con un ottimo frigorifero. Direi tutto perfetto
