You know what struck me first about Italianway – Baracca 7 B? It’s one of those places that feels like someone’s really nice apartment rather than a hotel – and I mean that in the best possible way. Located on Via Francesco Baracca, you’re basically in the sweet spot of Bologna where you can walk to the centro storico without the constant tourist buzz right outside your window. The street itself is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep well (trust me, Bologna can get pretty lively at night), but you’re maybe a ten-minute stroll from Piazza Maggiore and all the good stuff.

The building has that classic Bolognese charm – you know, the kind with those beautiful porticoes that the city’s famous for nearby, though this particular street doesn’t have them. What it does have is easy access to some of my favorite local spots. There’s this incredible little osteria about three blocks away that most tourists never find, and honestly, the morning walk to get proper coffee and cornetti puts you right in the rhythm of the city. The apartment itself feels thoughtfully put together – not fancy in a sterile way, but comfortable in that Italian style where everything just works. Good water pressure in the shower (seriously underrated when you’re traveling), decent Wi-Fi, and the kind of kitchen setup where you could actually cook if you wanted to, though with Bologna’s food scene, why would you?

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to the university area that there’s always some energy around, but far enough from the main drags that you won’t have drunk study-abroad students stumbling past at 2 AM. The 9.5 rating honestly makes sense once you spend a night here – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it nails everything it’s actually going for. The check-in was smooth (they actually respond to messages quickly, which isn’t always a given with apartment rentals), and the whole setup just feels… reliable, I guess? Like someone who knows Bologna well decided to create exactly the kind of place they’d want to stay in. If you’re the type who wants to experience Bologna like you’re living there for a few days rather than just passing through, this works perfectly. Plus, parking isn’t a nightmare if you’re driving – though honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need your car much.
