The rooms have that sweet spot between historic charm and actually working properly – you know how some boutique places in Italy can be gorgeous but then the shower barely works? Not here. They’ve kept the original frescoed ceilings in some rooms (request one if you’re into that), and the bathrooms are modern without feeling sterile. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing – Via Orfeo isn’t exactly a main thoroughfare, but Bologna can get lively at night, and I slept perfectly. The breakfast spread is solid too, though honestly, you’re in Bologna, so you should be hitting up the local bars for morning cappuccino anyway.

Here’s what really sold me on this place: the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a tourist map – he walked me outside and pointed toward Via del Pratello, explaining which osteria has the best tagliatelle al ragù and warning me that the place gets packed after 8 PM. That kind of local insight matters when you’re dealing with a food city like Bologna. The location is pretty perfect for exploring on foot – you’re close enough to the university quarter to feel the energy but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not fighting crowds every time you leave the hotel. Parking can be tricky in this part of the centro storico, but they’ll sort out permits if you’re driving. The 8.8 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s exactly what you want from a four-star stay in Bologna: comfortable, well-located, and run by people who clearly give a damn about the details.

  Ein wunderschöner Ort für entspannte Tage in Bologna, super gelegen, ruhig aber zentral. Sehr großzügige Wohnung, ausreichend Platz (wir waren zu 4), alles da was man braucht, sehr sauber. Der kleine Innenhof ist so schön für den ersten Kaffee morgens oder abends noch ein Glas Wein. Luca ist ein sehr fürsorglicher Gastgeber!

  Bardzo podobało nam się położenie apartamentu oraz przesympatyczny właściciel, który pomagał i polecał miejsca i restauracje. Apartament jest w prawdziwym starym bolońskim domu, więc można poczuć prawdziwą atmosferę miasta. Do tego w apartamencie jest urokliwy ogród. Ale co najważniejsze, mimo że apartament jest w samym niemalże centrum jest cicho i spokojnie. Są okiennice, więc można szczelnie zaciemnić pomieszczenia i wtedy śpi się tam znakomicie. Przy samym apartamencie sklep czynny bardzo długo, niedaleko supermarket.

  L'appartamento era molto grande e confortevole con un bellissimo giardino interno. Il livello di pulizia era molto elevato. Il check-in è stato molto semplice e il gestore era molto disponibile per gli orario di check-in and check-out e ha fornito suggerimenti utili per la città.

  The location is perfect. Approx a 10 min stroll into the centre. The peaceful surroundings yet still plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars within metres of the property. Luca our host was one of the best hosts I've experienced. He couldn't be more helpful and informative. My son left a football jersey in the apartment and Luca had it posted back to us in Ireland straight away! Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

  Great location and good for short stays. Beds were very comfortable. All the amenities were as described. Shower was hot and big. The garden is nice. Overall good value.
  
  What could be improved: The whole flat has a slight damp smell but it’s not too bad. One of the rooms has a much stronger damp smell and there is visible damp on the walls and ceiling.
