Here’s the thing about staying here — you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Bologna. The Two Towers are maybe a ten-minute stroll, and you’re close enough to the university area that you’ll see students buzzing around, which always adds energy to a neighborhood. What couples seem to love (and they’ve rated the location 9.0, which is pretty impressive) is how you can duck into authentic osterie for dinner without having to trek across town. The morning passeggiata happens right outside your door, so you get that real Italian daily rhythm.

The Room Experience

The rooms at Hotel Pedrini are — well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star in Italy. Clean, comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works. I appreciated that they haven’t tried to over-modernize and lose the character. The room I stayed in had decent space (not huge, but this is Europe after all), and the bed was actually quite comfortable. Air conditioning works well, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Bologna’s sticky summers. The bathrooms are updated enough to feel fresh without being sterile.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is proper Italian style — think buffet setup with fresh pastries, good coffee, and local touches that make it feel authentic rather than generic hotel fare. They do the Italian breakfast thing right, which means excellent coffee and cornetti that actually taste like something. It’s not elaborate, but it sets you up well for a day of wandering Bologna’s porticoed streets. Plus, having it included means you’re not hunting around for an open café first thing in the morning.

What really works about this place is the combination of location and value — you’re getting that prime Bologna experience without paying premium prices. The fact that there’s private parking available is honestly a huge deal if you’re driving (anyone who’s tried to park in Bologna’s centro storico knows this). It’s the kind of place where you spend your time exploring Bologna rather than hanging around the hotel, which is exactly how it should be in a city this rich with food, history, and culture.

  Perfect location for meetings at the University, but also for the historic centre. This hotel is full of character. A spacious, quiet (at least at the back of the hotel…) and comfortable room with excellent air conditioning. Wonderful staff – friendly, funny and absolutely charming! The hotel is excellent value for money.

  It is a pleasant hotel and the staff were extremely helpful. Room was nice, breakfast was good and there was a lift which is always good to have. I have no complaints to make. It is in the university district and it was an interesting mix of people in the streets around. It was easily reached by taxi from the railway station and they got me one for the airport in the morning no trouble although Bologna's traffic is heavy so remember that.
  
  What could be improved: The location was a problem which is not their fault – I misread the map when I made the booking. It is a bit of a trek on foot if you want to head for the centre and Neptune's statue and the cathedral and the towers and the restaurant area. .I need a stick for walking so do look at the map carefully –

  I'd recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Bologna. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when the key to my hotel room broke. The breakfast was basic, but it matches your needs as a traveller. The location is also central. It's on the edge of the centre, but still in the centre nevertheless. I didn't like the walk in shower in the room though. It had no shower head, which I do prefer to have. Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience here.

  This was a lovely family run hotel and the staff were fantastic- going out of their way to help us. The added bonus for us was discovering that there was a terrace accessible from our room. There is also a roof top terrace and the view of the city was stunning

  Wonderful staff! Everybody was very nice, helpful and accommodating. Everything was really clean. Comfortable room.
  
  What could be improved: A bit of an older hotel, the single room i stayed in could use a renovation, but i think that’s more than fair for the price and it definitely still was very charming! Breakfast was okay, but not many choices, mostly sweet.

  The room was magnificent and exceeded my expectation. Tolerance and professionalism of the staff is superb. The amenities are state of the art in room 111 where I stayed. Their customer care responds to call promptly. Overall good.
