You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking into what feels like a completely renovated, Instagram-worthy apartment while the building itself has this gorgeous old-world Bologna character. The name basically tells you everything – it really is a grand, modern space tucked inside one of those beautiful historic buildings that makes this city so special.

I mean, Viale Enrico Panzacchi isn’t exactly the tourist center everyone talks about, but honestly that’s part of what I loved about it. You’re in a proper residential neighborhood where actual Bolognesi live, which means you’ll hear the morning coffee ritual at the bar downstairs and see kids heading to school – it’s real life, not tourist theater. The street itself is wide and tree-lined, and you’re actually perfectly positioned between the university area and the historic center. I could walk to Piazza Maggiore in about 15 minutes, but I was also close enough to Via Zamboni to grab aperitivo with the student crowd when I wanted that energy.

The apartment itself… well, they really did their homework on the renovation. Everything feels fresh and carefully chosen – the kind of place where you’re not afraid to cook because the kitchen actually works properly (trust me, this matters in Italy). Big windows, high ceilings that remind you you’re in a 19th-century building, but then modern touches that don’t feel forced or trying too hard. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not luxury luxury, but it’s genuinely comfortable and well-thought-out. I particularly appreciated that they managed to keep some of the original architectural details while making everything feel contemporary.

Practically speaking, the area gets pretty quiet at night, which I wasn’t expecting given how close you are to the university district. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle – like most of Bologna’s residential streets, you’ll need to figure out the permit zones, but the host was actually helpful about explaining the system. Check-in was smooth, no drama there. The 8.2 rating seems about right to me – a few small things could be better (the shower pressure was just okay, and the Wi-Fi got a bit spotty in the evenings), but overall it delivers on what it promises.

What really sold me on the location was stumbling onto this little morning market just two streets over – locals buying vegetables and chatting with vendors, the kind of scene you hope to find but rarely do when you’re staying in obvious tourist areas. There’s also this excellent osteria about a five-minute walk away that I never would have found if I’d been staying closer to the center. Sometimes the best part of travel is just living normally somewhere else for a few days, and this place actually lets you do that in Bologna.

  Like: location of the building, Camilla' support during the stay to get things done and help clarify some doubts and missing stuff (like shampoo or shower gel – we were lucky to bring some for one of the kids).
  
  Dislike: overall cleanliness of the apartment not the best one, sofa and maitresses need to be changed (old and sofa with to much dust not good for people with allergies), blackouts missing in the rooms (lot of light very soon), and some missing kitchen appliances like Microwave (not working) or a toaster (we need to improve some using the oven).

  The location is perfect for exploring Bologna. Bus station just across street, all daily needs are close by.
  Unfortunately the furniture needs updating/ repair , a deep clean of furniture and apartment is needed. Bedding was nasty.Kitchen is not functional. We found it overpriced for the lack of quality provided. Host was responsive and provided us with lots of helpful information regarding Bologna.

  The location was excellent.
  
  What could be improved: The beds were all saggy and uncomfortable. The dishes in the cupboard were dirty and there were only enough plates for 5 people. We were a group of six. There was mold on the baseboards and dust bunnies everywhere. Looked like the place hadn't had a deep clean for quite some time.
