The neighborhood’s got that authentic Bologna vibe where you’ll see more locals than tourists grabbing coffee at the bar downstairs (well, not literally downstairs, but you know what I mean – nearby).

The hotel itself has this warm, family-run feeling that you don’t always get with four-star places. Check-in was smooth – no pretentious marble lobby nonsense, just efficient and friendly. The rooms are actually well-thought-out, not just pretty. I appreciated things like proper lighting for reading and outlets where you actually need them. The beds are comfortable without being too soft, and honestly, the soundproofing is better than I expected given that main road location. You might catch some morning traffic if you’re a really light sleeper, but it’s not the kind of thing that’ll keep you up at night.

Here’s what really got me though – the breakfast situation is genuinely good. Not just “hotel breakfast good,” but actually good. They do this local pastry thing that I can’t pronounce properly, but it’s worth getting up for. The coffee’s proper Italian strong, and they seem to source from local suppliers, which makes sense given how food-focused this whole region is. You’ll probably run into some Italian business travelers who clearly stay here regularly, which is always a good sign in my book.

The staff actually knows the area – like, really knows it. When I asked about restaurants, they didn’t just hand me a generic list but pointed me toward this little osteria about ten minutes away where I ended up having one of my best meals in Bologna. They also helped me figure out the bus system, which can be a bit confusing if you’re not familiar with Italian public transport.

That 9.4 rating isn’t just fluff – you can feel it in the details. The Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the building, housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and everything just… works. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place where you settle in and think, “okay, this works for me.” If you’re looking for something in Bologna that feels more authentic than the tourist-heavy spots but still gives you proper comfort and service, Casa Beda’s worth considering. Just don’t expect a pool or spa – this is about location, quality, and that particular Italian approach to hospitality that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about your experience.

  The apartment is very nice, very modern, seems to be new, it is very well equipped and very clean. It was very easy to check-in and check-out.
