It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that feels completely removed from Bologna’s touristy chaos, but you’re actually just a few minutes’ walk from Piazza Maggiore. Via Luigi Calori is one of those tree-lined streets where locals walk their dogs in the evening – honestly, I almost walked past it because it looks more like an elegant apartment building than a hotel. The whole area has this lived-in university town vibe since you’re really close to the university district, and I mean, Bologna students have been wandering these streets for centuries.

The building itself has that understated Italian elegance thing going on – nothing flashy, just good bones and thoughtful details. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (none of that overly formal hotel theater), and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood instead of just rattling off tourist attractions. My room had these lovely high ceilings and windows that opened onto the street, though if you’re a super light sleeper, you might catch some early morning delivery trucks – but that’s city life, right? The furnishings felt curated rather than mass-produced, sort of like staying in a well-appointed friend’s place rather than a generic hotel room. What really got me was the attention to comfort without trying too hard – good lighting for reading, actual hangers in the closet, a bathroom that didn’t require engineering skills to operate the shower.

Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites don’t tell you: you’re positioned perfectly between the university area and the historic center, which means you get the best of both worlds. Walk ten minutes south and you’re in the heart of medieval Bologna with all the towers and porticoes. Head north and you’re in the student quarter with those little trattorias that locals actually frequent – I had some of my best meals up there, honestly. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you spend a night there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just works well. Parking can be tricky in this part of Bologna (like most Italian city centers), but they’ll sort you out with recommendations, and the train station is walkable if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll with luggage. I’d definitely come back – it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Bologna rather than just visiting it.

  Great TV, incredible bed, coffee machine and a really good sized bathroom! Short walk to some great little restaurants and not too far from the airport and the train station. Was the ideal location for a trip with friends for the Imola GP

  What could be improved: Rozkładana kanapa nie była wygodna. W sypialni byly tylko 3 miejsca na wygodnych lozkach. Jak zamawiałem nocleg dla 4 osób myślałem że 4 osoby będą miały porównywalny komfort. Jedna osoba cierpiała z powodu tej niewygodnej sofy.

  L'appartamento è spazioso e arredato in modo funzionale.
  
  In cucina abbiamo trovato detersivo per i piatti/spugne/strofinaccio e le cose base (zucchero etc).
  A disposizione anche delle cialde per la macchina del caffè, bustine per il the e acqua nel frigo.
  
  Bagno spazioso e finestrato.
  
  L'appartamento è facilmente raggiungibile con i mezzi pubblici.
  
  Molto comodo poter pagare la tassa di soggiorno tramite link invece che in contanti.

  Centrally located – 10 minutes walk to the center, train station and there is a parking €5 a day – , quiet and the air conditioning was a life saver in the heat wave. The greeter was super nice: waited for us even though we ran into traffic and got there later than expected. I would use the property again for our stay in Bologna.
  
  What could be improved: It had a funky smell in the entry area, very likely from previous vacationers smoked and the chemical being used to cover that .

  Беше чисто и уютно. Удобно леглото в спалнята. Наличието на кафе машина, прибори и домакински съдове. Голям хладилник, съдомиялна, балкон и голяма баня. .
  
  What could be improved: Може да се добави микровълнова фурна. И да се почисти пералнята, защото мирише на мухъл и не исках да я използвам. Всичко друго ни хареса.
