You know what struck me first about Bologna Suites? The location is absolutely perfect – I mean, Via dell’Indipendenza is basically Bologna’s main artery, but somehow this place manages to feel tucked away from all the chaos. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, and honestly, that’s huge because you can duck back for a siesta between all the wandering around the porticoes.

The suites themselves are surprisingly spacious for Italy – and I say that as someone who’s squeezed into plenty of European “doubles” that barely fit the bed. Each one has its own private bathroom (hence the name, obviously), but what they don’t tell you is how modern and well-designed they are. The shower pressure is actually decent, which… look, if you’ve traveled in Italian cities, you know that’s not always a given. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe without feeling cold or hotel-chain generic. There’s good natural light, and the beds are properly comfortable – not too soft, not too firm. I actually slept really well, which doesn’t always happen when you’re adjusting to a new place.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right in the thick of things. The building itself seems well-insulated, and the street doesn’t get the late-night bar crowd that some of the side streets near the university area do. Parking is tricky (it’s the city center, what do you expect?), but there’s a decent garage about three blocks away if you’re driving. Most people just take the bus from the airport though – there’s a stop practically outside the door that connects to the main station. The staff actually knows the city well too, which makes a difference. They pointed me toward this little osteria off Via del Pratello that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of the trip. That’s the kind of local insight that makes a place feel authentic rather than just functional. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city like Bologna.

  A perfect place to stay in Bologna – all the main sights are within walking distance, it’s close to the train station, and you can reach the airport in just minutes via the Marconi Express. The apartment is located in a charming historic building surrounded by 4- and 5-star hotels, so the location is excellent. Despite being in the city center, it’s very quiet inside, ensuring a restful stay. The host was incredibly attentive and caring, gave clear check-in instructions, stayed in touch throughout our visit, and even left us some lovely treats. Highly recommended!

  Communication: The host reached out to communicate with me before check in, and checked in with me during the stay.
  Check- in process: The check-in instruction was well written, included not only words but photos.
  Air conditioning: The A/C helped a lot as the temperature was 35 degrees during my stay in Bologna.

  Bologna Suites is located close to the train station which was very convenient for us. In addition, we were able to walk to other attractions. Perfect for a 3 night stay. The self-check in was seamless and the host was quick to answer any questions. Even though there were road works, it didn't bother us since we were out all day. The room was spacious with a well- equipped bathroom, except a small fridge would have been handy.

  Our stay was very comfortable! The room was spacious and clean, and we appreciated the complimentary snacks provided for breakfast. Self check-in was very smooth—the instructions sent by the host were clear and worked perfectly! The building has a lift, which was very helpful with our luggage. The location is also great, halfway between the train station and the main square, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
  
  What could be improved: While the host was always responsive, communication could have been a bit more prompt at times. Also, it’s possible to leave your luggage after check-out, but only until 3pm and the storage area is the building’s parking spot—so it’s a good idea to make sure all bags are locked for extra security.

  The apartment is very comfortable, clean, spacious and has a great location. It is very central, close to everything by foot ☺️
  The suites also offer parking. There was a small misunderstanding regarding the parking, it was probably not the owners fault and we did not find a free space in the location, however Antonio promptly helped and recommended another parking nearby.
  Also, Antonio recommended to have coffee and pastries in the morning at the hotels cafe across the street and it was top delicious!
  
  What could be improved: It is not a problem of the location or owner, the only downside was that there is a lot of construction in progress in the entire central area, on the streets and they started very early at 7AM.

  Location was close to both the city center and the train station. Made for easy commutes and back and forth to different destinations!
