The name makes it sound like some tech startup, but this place is actually tucked into a beautiful old building right on Via Matteotti – and I mean right in the heart of Bologna’s centro storico. When you’re walking up to that second floor entrance, you can already tell someone put real thought into this renovation.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Bologna rather than just visiting it. You’re literally steps from Piazza Maggiore – I’m talking a two-minute walk where you’ll pass actual locals doing their daily shopping, not just tourist traps. The building itself has that classic Bologna charm with the porticoes right outside, which means you can duck out of the rain (and trust me, you’ll want to know this if you’re visiting in spring). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central – something about being on the second floor and the way the building is positioned just blocks out most of the street noise.

The rooms have this modern-meets-historical thing going on that actually works, unlike some places where it feels forced. The owners clearly know their stuff – everything from the lighting to the bathroom fixtures feels intentional, not just thrown together. I mean, it’s not a massive space, but honestly, when you’re in Bologna you’re not spending much time in your room anyway. You’re out exploring the food scene or wandering through those incredible medieval streets. The 8.8 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place where small details matter, like having really good WiFi (essential if you’re working remotely) and shower pressure that doesn’t make you want to cry.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went: parking around Via Matteotti can be tricky, so definitely ask them about options when you book. Also, if you’re arriving during university season – Bologna’s got one of Europe’s oldest universities, so there’s always something happening – the whole area gets this amazing energy, especially in the evenings. The staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to point you toward places that aren’t in every guidebook, which is rare these days. It’s that kind of local knowledge that makes a difference between a good stay and one you’ll actually remember.

  Hotel was in a great location! 20 minute walk to downtown Bologna and less than 10 minutes to Bologna Centrale! The room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was a 10/10. (loved the shower) I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
