But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has this understated elegance that you don’t really notice from the street, and once you’re inside, it feels like you’ve discovered something locals have been keeping to themselves.

The apartments are actually really well thought out – not just thrown together like some places do it. I stayed in one of the larger units and was impressed by how they managed to make it feel homey without being cluttered. The kitchen setup is legit functional (I actually cooked a few meals there), and the bedrooms have this nice balance of being cozy without feeling cramped. What really got me was the attention to details that matter – like proper blackout curtains (seriously, European morning sun is no joke), decent water pressure, and wifi that actually works throughout the entire space. The furnishings lean modern but not in that cold, sterile way that makes you afraid to touch anything.

Location-wise, you’re in San Donato, which honestly took me a day or two to fully appreciate. It’s not the historic center that everyone talks about, but that’s kind of the point – you get a real feel for how Bologna actually works as a city. There’s a solid bus connection that gets you to Piazza Maggiore in about 20 minutes, and I found myself walking to the train station pretty regularly since it’s not that far. The neighborhood itself has this authentic residential vibe with some surprisingly good local spots nearby – there’s a bakery about three blocks down that does these incredible morning pastries, and the evening aperitivo scene around here is way more relaxed than the touristy areas. I mean, you’ll definitely want to explore the city center, but coming back to San Donato each evening felt like returning to actual Bologna rather than tourist Bologna, if that makes sense. The staff really knows their stuff too – they gave me restaurant recommendations that I never would have found on my own, and when I had a minor issue with the air conditioning, someone was there within an hour to sort it out. For a 4-star place with a 9 rating, it actually lives up to the hype, which is rarer than you’d think.

  Oh boy, I liked everything, starting with a private parking in front of the room! The apartment is nice and clean, and has everything you may need – well equipped kitchen, toiletries and washing machine. WIFI is working, bed linen and towels are clean and nice, welcome soft drinks in the fridge; what else you may need? Maybe a wine? Right, there's a wine store across the street! Bus stop to the city center is next to it, it only takes 20 mins to get to the heart of Bologna. The host, Michela, is extremely helpful and super nice, she'll look after you since before your arrival.

  Quick and easy public transports nearby, easily reachable from city center / central train station. Own fenced car park if needed and generally a very nice and quiet location. Very nice and charming host, good information sequencing and always reachable by phone when needed. Highly recommended!
  
  What could be improved: Just a small personal discomfort so only speaking for myself and not the 3 others. I don't sleep well on a spring core mattress, therefore just a personal deduction for the comfort of the beds.
  (!) Please note that the 3 other guests had no problem and experienced it more comfortable.
