Apartment 24 Bologna Overview
You know, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Apartment 24 Bologna when I first walked up to the building on Via Cesare Boldrini – it’s tucked into this residential stretch that honestly feels more like where actual Bolognese people live rather than tourist central. Which, it turns out, is exactly what makes it work so well. The entrance is understated in that particularly Italian way where you’re wondering if you’re in the right place until someone buzzes you in and suddenly you’re in this beautifully renovated space that feels like your design-savvy friend’s apartment, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a decent budget.
The location is actually pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. I mean, you’re about a 12-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, which sounds far until you realize you’re strolling through some of Bologna’s most authentic neighborhoods – past the little alimentari where locals grab their morning cornetti, under those endless porticoes that make rainy days almost pleasant. The university district is right there too, so there’s this constant hum of student life that keeps things feeling alive without being overwhelmingly touristy. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night; you’re close enough to duck into the city center for dinner but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the late-night chatter from the bars around Via del Pratello. The rooms themselves feel more like a well-appointed apartment than a hotel – there’s actual counter space in the kitchenette (revolutionary, I know), and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t spend the first night adjusting to some weird mattress situation. The shower pressure was solid, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy but somehow always is in Europe.
Look, it’s not going to blow your mind – this is a solid, well-run place that does exactly what it promises without a lot of fuss. The 7.7 rating feels about right; it’s the kind of spot where everything works, the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you decent recommendations, and you’ll probably sleep better than you expect. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend rather than just another tourist trap, this hits that sweet spot. Plus, there’s something to be said for waking up on a quiet Bologna side street, grabbing coffee from the bar downstairs, and feeling like you’ve got a temporary home base in one of Italy’s most underrated food cities.

Reviews of Apartment 24 Bologna
Very good – Stella from Greece – 24 April 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Noisy neighbors
Exceptional – Vasileva from North Macedonia – 21 October 2024 (10/10)
I recently stayed in apartment 24 that exceeded my expectations. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for travel. The apartment itself was spotless and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a clean and convenient stay!
Nice place. I would book it again if I ever visit Bologna again. – Canullas from Sweden – 17 October 2024 (10/10)
It's 5-10mins walk to/from the station.
It has 2 bathroom, one in the room and a seperate one.
It has some the equipment if you're cooking or eating.
What could be improved: You can't close the door of one if you have 2 seperate beds in 1 room.
The dining area is too small to eat with 4 people together.Pleasant – Nick from United Kingdom – 13 October 2024 (6/10)
Location.
What could be improved: Tiny bathroom. No wine glasses or mugs or bottle openers. Space was smaller than we expected and although there are 2 bedrooms and bathrooms this is not a flat for more than 2 people.Good location, good hosting – Celik from Netherlands – 12 June 2024 (8/10)
Location is great, you can easily walk to the center and attractions.
What could be improved: It is two bathroom apartment which is good, however hot water is problem. After one person takes a bath, hot water can be a problem for the second person.Very good – Natasha from Greece – 8 May 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was small but pretty good, very close to the train station. The beds were decent. The fact that has 2 bathrooms is a big advantage! There were tvs and aircondition in each room.
What could be improved: In the small bedroom, there was a intense smell of cigarette smoke. Probably the previous visitors did not respect the "non smoking" sign… The main door of the apartment it could be replaced with a new safety door…Superb – Karla from United States – 2 May 2024 (9/10)
Everything except the shower.
What could be improved: The shower is 20" deep. When you take into account the shower levers are 3" that leaves about 17" inches to maneuver. If you do not like to bump into the cold sides and levers this shower will not make you happy. The aperture to enter the shower is about 12". If you are a person that weighs more than 150 pounds with a brick in your hand, you will need to suck it in and hike it up in order to get into the shower.
Having said that, if you can cope, this is the place for you.
Lovely apartment and well placed with everything you might need in walking distance.
I would go back in a heartbeat!Good place to stay in Bologna, especially if you are planning to travel by train. – Lilyana from Bulgaria – 1 February 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was very clean, the two bathrooms were a big plus for us. Location is very convenient – near the center, the central train station and many bus lines. There was coffee, tea and few other basic but much needed things which is always appreciated. The place was quiet in the night, so we could enjoy a nice rest.
What could be improved: It looks like it's a common app used when renting apartments in Bologna, but the check-in process was a bit too complicated in my opinion. The good side was that it was all made online, so if you are doing it in advance you can plan some extra time.
Despite the detailed check-in where we stated we are four people, one of the beds was not laid with bedsheets, etc.
Another small issue we faced was the lack of bottle opener which was very strange in a country where wine is tradition.
Finally, I don't remember reading about the city tax, but it turned out it is not included in the price, so we had to pay it additionally. Could be me missing to read it though.Good – Marie from Malta – 29 January 2024 (7/10)
That there were 2 separate bedrooms and 2 separate bathrooms.
What could be improved: The apartment was quite smallSuperb – Lora from Romania – 16 January 2024 (9/10)
Very clean and comfortable
