Villa Laura Apartments Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Laura? It’s tucked away on Via Emilia Levante in this quietly residential part of Savena, and honestly, I almost walked right past it the first time. The building has this understated elegance – not flashy, but you can tell someone actually cares about the details. The apartment-style setup immediately made sense once I got inside; these aren’t your typical cramped hotel rooms where you’re tripping over your suitcase.
The location is actually pretty clever if you think about it. Sure, you’re not stumbling out your front door into Piazza Maggiore, but you’re getting a real slice of how Bolognese people actually live. There’s this fantastic little alimentari just down the street where the owner – this older guy with the most expressive hands – will walk you through the best local cheeses like you’re family. The bus connections are solid too; I mean, the number 14 gets you into the centro storico in about fifteen minutes, and you’ll pass through some neighborhoods that most tourists never see. Plus, parking here doesn’t involve selling a kidney, which anyone who’s driven in Bologna will appreciate.
What really sold me on the place was the apartment feel without the hassle of actually renting an apartment. The kitchenette was properly equipped – I’m talking real knives, not those useless butter knives most places give you. The living areas have enough space to actually spread out your stuff, maybe work on your laptop without hunching over a tiny desk. The bathrooms are modern and spacious, with decent water pressure (trust me, this matters after a long day wandering around). I stayed during late spring and the courtyard was lovely in the mornings – you could hear the neighborhood slowly waking up, kids heading to school, the gentle hum of everyday life. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s comfortable and well-maintained without being pretentious about it. That 8.2 rating makes sense too – it’s the kind of place where everything works as it should, staff is helpful without being overbearing, and you feel settled rather than like you’re camping out. If you’re the type who wants to experience Bologna like you’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through, Villa Laura gets it right.

What could be improved: Staff non presente sul luogo. Collegamento via video.
