You know what struck me first about Sweet Home Fiera? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it really does feel like someone’s stylish home rather than a sterile hotel room. I mean, finding it on Via Francoforte was easy enough (it’s basically a straight shot from the train station), but honestly, the area around Fiera District isn’t exactly Bologna’s most charming neighborhood. That said, this little 4-star gem totally makes up for it with what’s inside.

The whole place has this warm, lived-in vibe that’s hard to fake. Walking into the lobby, there’s this subtle scent of coffee and something floral – not overpowering like those chain hotels that pump artificial vanilla everywhere. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is refreshing. I stayed here during a trade show season, and while the Fiera area gets pretty busy with business travelers, the hotel manages to keep things surprisingly quiet. The rooms have these thick curtains that block out the morning light completely (trust me, you’ll appreciate this if you’re jet-lagged), and the beds are legitimately comfortable – not that firm European mattress thing that leaves you sore.

What really won me over was the attention to small details that actually matter. The shower has proper water pressure, the WiFi works throughout the building (even in the elevator, which is weirdly impressive), and there’s enough counter space to spread out your stuff without playing hotel-room Tetris. The breakfast setup is solid too – fresh pastries from a local bakery, decent coffee, and they don’t rush you out at some arbitrary cutoff time. If you’re planning to explore Bologna’s centro storico, it’s about a 15-minute tram ride or a reasonable walk if the weather’s nice. The Fiera/Costituzione area isn’t exactly picturesque, but you’re close enough to duck into the city proper whenever you want those narrow medieval streets and incredible food. Plus, if you’re driving, parking here is infinitely easier than trying to navigate Bologna’s historic center with a car – I learned that the hard way on a previous trip. The 9.2 rating this place gets makes total sense; it’s one of those hotels that just gets the fundamentals right without trying to be fancy about it.

  Mooi ruim appartement. We verbleven met 8 volwassenen. Prima bedden en alle voorzieningen..

  Appartamento davvero bello è completo dal punto di visto delle comodità. Spazioso e con una cucina davvero funzionale; anche il design dell'arredamento era davvero molto bello!
  Inoltre al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato una cassetta piena di snack per la colazione come brioche e biscotti confezionati, oltre ad avere varie bustine del tè e capsule di caffè, con annessi bollitore e macchinetta del caffè!
  Infine, il rapporto qualità/prezzo è davvero ottimo; consigliatissimo!
