I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Savhotel Fiera Bologna on Via Parri, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s one of those newer builds in the Fiera district, and you know how those can be hit or miss. But walking through those doors? Actually pleasantly surprised. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff at check-in were genuinely helpful – not just going through the motions like you get at some places.

Here’s what I really appreciated about this spot: it’s perfectly positioned if you’re doing business stuff at the exhibition center (literally a five-minute walk), but they’ve managed to keep it quiet enough that you’re not dealing with conference crowds stomping around at all hours. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – nothing fancy, but everything works properly. Good shower pressure, decent Wi-Fi, and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you aching. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good too, with proper coffee and fresh pastries, not just the usual sad continental setup.

What really works here is the location flexibility. Sure, you’re not in the historic center with all the medieval charm – that’s about a 15-minute bus ride or quick taxi trip away. But honestly? Sometimes it’s nice to have a peaceful base where you can actually get some sleep, then hop into the city when you want the full Bologna experience. The area around Via Parri has some decent local restaurants (there’s this little trattoria two blocks over that does incredible tortellini), and you’re close enough to the ring road that getting to other parts of the city is straightforward. Plus, if you’re driving, parking here doesn’t involve navigating those narrow historic streets where you’re constantly worried about scraping your rental car. The whole setup just… works. It’s the kind of place where you check in, settle in easily, and can focus on why you’re actually in Bologna instead of dealing with hotel drama.

  Was a clean hotel in a quiet area, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The only gripe would be location however it was only a 30 minute walk from city centre so wasn’t bad at all.

  Great breakfast. A spacious room. Hot jaccuzi on the roof, great. They compensated us for the air conditioning problem. We checked out early. The manager made sure to give us a booking credit letter and offset the city taxes.
  
  What could be improved: The bottom of the shower is very slippery, you must enter with flip-flops. The air conditioning in the gym was not working too long time.

  Very cozy and clean room, big and comfortable bed. Room and bathroom were well equipped (fridge, coffee/tea set, cosmetics, bathtub with shower). Staff was really nice and helpful. The surrounding of the hotel is quiet and green. Five minutes to bus stop.

  very nice, pleasant, clean, modern, and spacious room; the bed was huge and extremely comfortable; there was a coffee machine in the room, which was a great touch; the reception staff were very friendly – we even received a free upgrade, which we truly appreciated; nice view from the window; good location – about a 15-minute walk from the train station and around 30 minutes on foot to the Old Town

  This is a newer hotel, rooms are spacious and light. Personnel has been wonderful, breakfast was very good, and the hotel restaurant was great as well. We also really liked the bar, they made some really killer cocktails!
  
  What could be improved: You have to take a bus to go to the city center. Walking is an option, but we went during a heatwave, so we tried to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

  The hotel was ideal for our stay in Bologna being very comfortable and well air conditioned after a day exploring the city in very hot weather. There was a very good underground car park. The restaurant was excellent. The staff were great.
