What I really appreciated was the attention to sound – the windows actually block out street noise, so you’re not lying awake listening to Vespas at 2 AM. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, and their English is solid if your Italian is rusty.

Here’s the thing about the location that makes it work so well: you’re in a real neighborhood. There’s a fantastic little osteria about three blocks away that serves the kind of tortellini that makes you understand why Bolognese people are so particular about their pasta. The morning walk to the city center takes you past actual grocery stores and cafés where locals grab their espresso, not tourist traps selling overpriced paninis. And if you’re planning to explore beyond Bologna – maybe day trips to Modena or Ferrara – you’re close enough to the train station that it’s not a hassle but far enough that you’re not dealing with all that transit noise. Parking can be tricky in this part of town (honestly, it’s tricky everywhere in Bologna), but the hotel staff knows the neighborhood parking situation and can point you in the right direction. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Great location, good enough apartment.
  
  What could be improved: Too thin walls, you can hear everything your neighbour next door does, even normal talking. That could be a problem as it's next to your bedroom.
  Ultimately there was an iron in the apartment even though the host assured me there was not, which led to me bringing my own for no reason after all.

  The apartment is in a great location, two steps from the two towers. The neighbourhood is safe. The apartment is clean and well equipped (the kitchen has everything you need for a short stay). There is a place right next door where you can have a delicious breakfast and lunch. Good contact with the host, great tips on where to eat (we tried a few and they were all good). There is a grocery shop nearby. A convenient place for a short stay.
  
  What could be improved: There are windows in the flat, but they can be considered non-existent because they overlook a small space and other windows. So you must always use the light, and it's also challenging to ventilate the flat. It's a bit claustrophobic for an extended stay. You can hear very well what is going on in the neighbouring flat. But if there are no guests there, it is very quiet, and no outside noise can be heard.

  What could be improved: In the first night the heating was not working, the second day the host sent somebody to fix it, it worked, however it was incredibly loud while working so we couldn’t use it while sleeping. We had to turn it off before going to bed and it was really cold in the morning. We would definitely choose this listing again, but in the summer, not autumn or winter.

  The location is by far the best part about this property. It was so close to the downtown area but also quiet. The young lady (Emilia?) who gave us our keys was really lovely and helpful. She also helped us with getting a late check out which was very much appreciated.
  
  What could be improved: The poillows in the main room were lumpy and both of the bed side lamps were broken.
