You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down Via degli Orti – it’s this quiet residential street that honestly feels more like a neighborhood than a hotel zone. But then you spot number 29, and suddenly everything clicks. Orti29 sits in this perfectly restored building that manages to feel both elegant and lived-in, if that makes sense. The entrance is understated in that way Italians do so well – no flashy signs or doormen, just quality materials and thoughtful design that whispers rather than shouts.

The thing that really struck me about this place is how it actually feels like Bologna. I mean, you’re staying in a real part of the city here, not some tourist bubble. There’s this little osteria about two blocks down where locals grab their morning coffee (the owner, Marco, makes the best cornetti in the area – trust me on this), and you can walk to Piazza Maggiore in maybe fifteen minutes through these amazing medieval streets. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a boutique property – thoughtfully designed with this mix of contemporary comfort and subtle nods to the city’s academic heritage. The beds are seriously comfortable, which matters more than people admit, and the bathrooms have this gorgeous local stone that probably costs more than my monthly rent. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound – Bologna can get lively, especially during university season, but the windows actually keep the noise out.

Honestly, the staff here gets it. They’re not overly formal or pushy, just knowledgeable in that effortless way that makes you feel like you’re staying with well-connected locals rather than hotel employees. When I mentioned I was looking for authentic tortellini, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist spots – he actually drew me a little map to this family place near Via del Pratello that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast situation is solid too, though I’ll admit I usually ended up at that osteria I mentioned because, well, when in Bologna, right? One small thing – parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but they’ve got arrangements with a garage nearby, and honestly, you probably won’t need a car anyway since everything worth seeing is walkable or a quick bus ride away. If you’re the type who wants to really experience Bologna rather than just visit it, this place gets that balance right.

  Ein kleines top eingerichtetes Reihenhäuschen mit allem
  was man so braucht für 3 Nächte !
  Etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum mit Tiefgarage und netten Lokalen in der Nähe.
  Der Vermieter war total bemüht, immer erreichbar und gab uns gute Tipps !

  Die wunderschöne Ferienwohnung ist ein kleines Reihenhaus. Die Inneneinrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll, alles ist aufeinander abgestimmt. Wir haben uns dort auf Abhieb sehr wohl gefühlt.

  Our stay at Orti29 was great. Cristian, the host, is incredibly kind and helpful, he always responded in a matter of minutes and gave all the information that we needed. We also got a list of great recommended restaurants from him.
  As for the place itself, it’s very clean, has lots of amenities, it’s nicely decorated and comfortable. The neighbourhood is nice, quiet at night, and feels very safe.
  Definitely the best option for a stay in Bologna, I can only recommend. Thank you for having us, we hope to come back someday.

  Die Wohnung ist sehr geschmackvoll und liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht! Der Vermieter ist sehr sympathisch und zuvorkommend, immer schnell erreichbar und kümmert sich wirklich sehr gut um seine Gäste. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, aber hat eine gute Busanbindung wenige Meter entfernt und einen privaten Parkplatz direkt bei der Wohnung. Außerdem ist ein großer Supermarkt in der Nähe und einige nette Restaurants, die auch zu Fuß erreichbar sind.

  Orti 29 is a very nicely designed house, with everything we needed, and a very pleasant place to stay. The location is also very good. We did not need to rent a car. We could easily reach the exhibition center, the city center and the central station by bus. There are also supermarkets, bars and restaurants nearby. We would like to thank the host Cristian for our pleasant stay.
