First Impressions

Walking up to Lupo Luxury Rooms on Via Emilia Levante, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical four-star property. The building has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly authentic — no flashy lobby or over-the-top marble everywhere, just clean lines and thoughtful design. What really caught my attention was how quiet it felt despite being right in the Savena district, which honestly surprised me given how well-connected this area is to central Bologna.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s the thing about staying in Savena — you’re close enough to everything that matters without dealing with the tourist chaos of the historic center. I mean, you can easily reach Piazza Maggiore and the university area, but you’re also positioned perfectly for exploring beyond the typical tourist trail. The Via Emilia Levante location puts you on one of Bologna’s main arteries, so getting around by bus or car is genuinely straightforward. Plus, and this is huge for Bologna, there’s actually parking available here — free parking, which anyone who’s tried to park in Italian city centers will tell you is basically like finding gold.

The Room Experience

The room itself strikes that sweet spot between modern comfort and Italian style without trying too hard. Everything feels well-thought-out — good lighting (which you don’t always get in European hotels), decent storage space, and a bathroom that’s actually functional rather than just pretty. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the soundproofing works well enough that you won’t hear every conversation from the hallway. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — proper outlets where you need them, blackout curtains that actually block light, things like that.

Getting Around and Practical Stuff

You know what’s refreshing? A hotel that doesn’t oversell its location but actually delivers on convenience. From here, you can walk to some excellent local spots that most tourists never discover — there’s this fantastic trattoria about ten minutes away that serves the best tortellini I’ve had outside of someone’s nonna’s kitchen. The bus connections are solid if you want to head into the centro storico, but honestly, I found myself enjoying the slightly more residential feel of this neighborhood. It’s where actual Bolognesi live and work, which gives you a different perspective on the city.

The combination of location, value, and genuine comfort makes this place work really well, especially for couples — apparently they rate the location particularly highly, and I can see why. You’re getting quality accommodation without the premium you’d pay closer to the main tourist areas, but you’re not sacrificing convenience or comfort. The free parking alone saves you both money and hassle, and the staff seems to understand that travelers want helpful information without being overwhelmed with sales pitches. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and use it as a proper base for exploring Bologna, rather than just somewhere to sleep between tourist activities.

  Stanza molto carina, pulitissima e grande. Bagno pulitissimo con doccia perfetta.
  L’appartamento si trova in una zona tranquillissima.

  What could be improved: Although host set room on Booking with “All taxes and charges included” they still asked extra money, for city tax when we arrived. Bed was quite small. It is a separate room in an apartment with bathroom on the hallway.

  Modern and clean room with your own bathroom.
  The bathroom gets cleaned every day, towels get washed and bathroom necessities get restocked.
  The personnel was very kind and helpful. In the bedroom is your own small fridge, where you can store your own water and smaller food.
