Fiera Bolognina – Komodo – Appartamento completo con giardino e parcheggio privato Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Fiera Bolognina – Komodo – Appartamento completo con giardino e parcheggio privato, I’ll be honest — the name’s a mouthful, but it tells you exactly what you’re getting. This four-star apartment sits on Via Alfonso Lombardi in a residential area that feels authentically Bolognese, away from the tourist crowds but still well-connected to everything you want to see. The private garden caught my eye immediately — it’s not huge, but there’s something really satisfying about having your own green space in Bologna.
The Space and Setup
You know what I loved most? Having an actual complete apartment instead of just a hotel room. The kitchen is properly equipped — I mean, you can actually cook here if you want to try your hand at making pasta (though honestly, why would you when Bologna’s trattorias are calling?). The layout feels thoughtful, not cramped like some city apartments, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The garden access from the main living area creates this nice indoor-outdoor flow that you don’t expect in the city center area.
Location Perks
Here’s the thing about this neighborhood — it’s where actual Bolognesi live, which means you’ll find those little corner bars where locals grab their morning espresso and cornetto. The Fiera district isn’t the postcard-pretty historic center, but it’s got character and it’s incredibly well-connected by public transport. I actually found myself walking to the city center more often than taking buses because the route takes you through some interesting residential streets you’d never see otherwise. Plus, couples seem to really get this location — they’ve rated it 8.1, and I can see why.
Practical Advantages
The private parking is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving in Italy. Bologna’s historic center has those ZTL zones where you can get fined just for existing, so having guaranteed parking removes that whole stress factor. Recent guests have been rating the location 8.3, which makes sense when you consider how rare it is to find this combination of space, privacy, and accessibility. The apartment gives you that flexibility to come and go as you please — grab groceries, cook breakfast, or just sit in the garden with a glass of wine without worrying about hotel lobby schedules.
Why Guests Love It
What really works here is the balance between having your own space and still being part of the Bologna experience. You’re not isolated in some sterile hotel complex — you’re living like a temporary resident in a real neighborhood. The garden becomes your little retreat after walking around the city all day, and having a full apartment means you can actually unpack and settle in, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. It’s that sweet spot where you get the independence of your own place with the reliability of a well-managed property.

Reviews of Fiera Bolognina – Komodo – Appartamento completo con giardino e parcheggio privato
Superb – Danila from Italy – 12 June 2025 (9/10)
Tutto, piccolo ma accogliente, non mancava assolutamente niente
What could be improved: NullaPoor – Eric from Denmark – 1 June 2025 (3/10)
Free parking on the premise. Relatively close to City Center.
What could be improved: The check-in process was terrible. This apartment has the most complicated way to get in with two sets of keys in different lock boxes which is completely unnecessary. If you have a car, opening the full gate and getting back in the car in time to drive in was almost impossible. And the worst part is the property manager refused to do the check-in in person even with this complicated process. If this is a puzzle video game, that's a great design. I will never do that for a holiday after a long drive in the Italian country road. Honestly, if you can do the check-in in person, you should never rent this place out for BnB.Superb – Witold from Poland – 9 May 2025 (9/10)
Good location close to fairs. Nice small coffee shop with good breakfast available nearby. Friendly personel.
What could be improved: Full bunch of keys to get to apartament 😉Exceptional – Bobas from Croatia – 15 February 2025 (10/10)
Clear instructions to get in/get out. The apartment was clean and had everything you would need. The staff is very polite and replies almost immediately.
Great – Lorenzo from France – 9 February 2025 (9/10)
Very great and well equipped accommodation with a good location close to the train station and the Aldi supermarket. The city center can be reached quickly walking.
What could be improved: A lot of steps to get in on the first day.Good for money – Thais from United Kingdom – 11 November 2024 (6/10)
It is located in a good location, good price compared to other properties in the area. We arrived at the property and we had no enough towels (only towels for one guest), we contacted the owner and the towels were provided at the same day.
What could be improved: The owner only provides the key code once you’re in front of the property, so you’ll need to ensure you have internet access to contact them upon arrival. There are multiple unnecessary keys in the lockers, which adds to the confusion, and the directions for entry are not very clear.
Additionally, the bath mat was completely wet when we arrived, and the bathroom curtains are old and dirty.I would probably come back – Carmen from Romania – 10 September 2024 (9/10)
The place is very clean, around 20’ walk from central station located in a very nice and clean neighborhood. Super comfy bed, clean towels, shower gel, cap provided.
What could be improved: The airplanes landing in Bologna are flying over during some intervals, including mornings, so it can get quite loud,
The location has some amenities, but some extra cutlery would be good.
The collection of keys is a bit hassling. There were 2 sets, some open other box to pick up the others, in total there are 6/7 keys that you keep on trying. They provided photos, but still never seen before.
Also when exiting the yard, a picture with the mechanism to open the gates would be of use.
The information about guests to be filled and transmitted was requested urgently in the day of checkin, which was unconvenient (I had to stop while I was walking and enjoying Venice). This really needs to be requested at least a day in advnace.
Extra information is provided, such as parking, use of airco, but for instance the central heating was off and no idea how to turn it on for hot water. So had to write them, luckly they responded quick, but this should be included in the info provided (includimg photos with the switch).Superb – Luca from United Kingdom – 28 June 2024 (9/10)
Great Host. No frills accommodation but excellent value for money. Conveniently located to nearby Fiera. Frequent bus service to city centre.
Great weekend stay for 2 friends – Agnieszka from Poland – 24 June 2024 (9/10)
Great location (we took a bus from the airport to the Bologna Centrale stop and walked the remaining distance in 20 minutes). Efficient and pleasant communication with the owner – he responded quickly to messages and provided valuable tips. Clean bed linens and towels were available.
What could be improved: Slightly smelly fridgeGreat stay – Sharon from Netherlands – 12 May 2024 (10/10)
Spacious for two people, everything you need is available in the apartment, great connection to the centre and the host is very friendly.
