The address might say “Piano terra” but honestly, that ground floor location on Via Centotrecento turned out to be perfect – I mean, no lugging suitcases up narrow Italian staircases, which anyone who’s stayed in Bologna’s centro storico will tell you is a genuine blessing. The apartment sits in this quiet residential pocket that feels authentically local, not touristy at all, though you’re still close enough to hear the gentle hum of the city center.

The thing about Appartamento House Apartment Tabe is that it gets Bologna right, if that makes sense. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile – there’s actual personality in the furnishings and you can tell someone put thought into making it comfortable for longer stays. The kitchen actually works (I’m talking real cooking space, not some sad hotplate situation), and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in these older Bologna buildings. What really won me over was the morning light streaming through the windows and how quiet it stays even during the day – apparently Via Centotrecento doesn’t get much through traffic, so you’re not dealing with the constant rumble of delivery trucks that plague some of the more central streets.

Location-wise, you’re in that sweet spot where locals actually live and shop, but you can still walk to Piazza Maggiore in about fifteen minutes when you want to do the tourist thing. There’s a little alimentari around the corner that becomes your best friend for morning coffee and evening wine runs, and the 40126 area has this relaxed residential vibe where you’ll see families heading to school and elderly signoras doing their daily shopping. The host’s check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – none of that “meet me at some random café with unclear directions” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. I suppose the 9.5 rating reflects what I experienced: it’s not luxury in the marble-and-chandeliers sense, but it’s exactly what you want from a Bologna stay – comfortable, authentic, and positioned so you can live like a temporary local rather than just pass through.

  This was a perfect spot to stay in Bologna, surrounded by many exceptional restaurants and cafes, and a good walking distance to and from the main square. The host, Luca was amazing, he checked in with us prior to our arrival and made the transitions smooth, also calling us a taxi to the station at the time we needed to check-out. He was very helpful and accommodating! The apartment was very well equipped with everything you need, it was clean, tidy, and orderly. Would highly recommend!! Thanks, Luca!

  It's hard to say what's missing in this apartment, because it has everything! The owner thoughtfully took care of everything so guests would feel at home and wrote detailed instructions. I was passing through from Bologna, and I was even able to wash and iron my clothes here, which is important in such heat. There were even capsules for the washing machine, so I didn't have to buy a whole pack. Many thanks to Luka for the pleasant communication and hosting!
  
  What could be improved: If you like to sleep with the windows open, you should understand that the apartment is on the first floor and the windows look directly onto the roadway. However, this was not a problem for me, as the air conditioning worked well in the room.

  The apartment was very clean and really well equipped. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, meeting us to hand over the keys and picking them up on the last day. The location was excellent for a lot of walking around this beautiful city! There are supermarkets near by for picking up provisions, and local restaurants too.

  The best host of all time! Luca was very welcoming, he explained everything about the apartment.
  The apartment has everything you need, from a coffee machine, to a clothes iron, a washing machine.. All the rooms were super clean.
  It is very close to the center. There is a supermarket, bakery and coffee shop just in front .
  I would highly recommend staying at Apartment Tabe.
