Appartamento Angeli 10 Overview
So I stumbled across Appartamento Angeli 10 during one of those late-night booking sessions where you’re desperately trying to find something decent in Bologna that won’t break the bank. Honestly? Best impulse decision I’ve made in ages. This place sits right on Via degli Angeli – and yeah, the street name means “Angels” which feels pretty apt when you’re dragging your suitcase through Bologna’s maze of medieval streets and suddenly find yourself at this surprisingly stylish entrance.
The thing about this apartment hotel is that it actually gets Bologna right, you know? I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos outside your window at 7 AM. The building itself has that perfect Bologna vibe – old bones with smart modern touches that don’t try too hard. When I checked in, the host mentioned the building dates back centuries, and you can feel it in the thick walls and the way sound just sort of… disappears once you’re inside. Which, let me tell you, is a blessing when the university crowd gets going on weekends.
What really sold me was the attention to detail that felt genuinely Italian, not like some corporate idea of what Italian should be. The kitchenette actually has proper coffee equipment – not just a sad little pod machine – and there’s this gorgeous old wooden table where I ended up eating way too much mortadella and parmigiano that I grabbed from Tamburini (which is basically around the corner, by the way). The bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually works, and the bed linens were that perfect combination of crisp and soft that makes you want to sleep in way past checkout time. There’s also this charming little balcony situation where you can sit with your morning espresso and watch the city wake up – honestly, it’s one of those simple pleasures that makes traveling feel worth it.
The location is what really sets this place apart though. You’re right in the heart of the university district, so there’s this constant but not overwhelming energy around you. Via del Pratello with all its bars and restaurants is maybe a five-minute stroll, and you can walk to the train station in about fifteen minutes if you don’t mind the slight uphill trek back. Parking is… well, it’s Bologna, so parking is always going to be an adventure, but there are some decent options nearby if you’re driving. I actually loved just walking everywhere – the two towers, the markets, even San Luca if you’re feeling ambitious. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, it nails everything that actually matters: comfort, location, and that indefinable sense of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Bologna, not just visiting it.

Schön ruhig gelegen.
What could be improved: Wir hatten leider Ameisen im Schlafzimmer.Very good – Beatrice from Switzerland – 14 November 2024 (8/10)
Exceptional – Simon from United Kingdom – 22 July 2024 (10/10)
Redelijk appartement voor een aantal dagen verblijf. – Hysteria0031 from Netherlands – 22 April 2024 (7/10)
Ruim appartement over 2 etages. Loop afstand tot centrum 10-15 minuten. Supermarkt en bakker op 1 minuut lopen. Centrale park op 5 minuten lopen. Voldoende restaurants in de buurt. Bedden redelijk hard. Host erg aardig en enthousiast met veel tips (niet de eigenaar).
What could be improved: Badkamer op 2de etage, voor sanitaire stop altijd de trap op. 1- twee persoons bed erg smal voor 2 personen. Waterdruk douche erg laag. Meubilair echt verouderd en zitbank versleten. Airco en verwarming kan je niet zelf bedienen en wordt op afstand door de eigenaar geregeld.A quiet oasis to come back to after a busy day. – Elizabeth from United Kingdom – 11 April 2024 (9/10)
The location was close to the centre. We were able to walk to the Piazza Maggiore & catch a bus to children’s book fair (the reason for our visit to Bologna). Good restaurants close by. Alba was very helpful, keeping in touch with me by WhatsApp so we could arrange a time for access & being shown round & responding quickly when we had any questions. There is a garden which sadly we didn’t have time to sit in!
What could be improved: Anyone with mobility problems needs to be aware that there is a spiral staircase to be navigated to get up to the bedrooms & bathroom.Superb – Enrico from Italy – 11 April 2024 (9/10)
Very good – Jiri from Czech Republic – 2 April 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: Málo úložného prostoru a schody k ložnicím.
Good – Christiane from Switzerland – 25 March 2024 (7/10)
