You know what struck me first about Appartamento Alle Due Torri? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re standing on Via del Carro – you can literally see Bologna’s famous leaning towers from certain angles, and honestly, that’s not something you get from most accommodations in the city center. This place sits in one of those quietly perfect spots where you’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the tourist chaos that swallows up areas closer to Piazza Maggiore.

The building itself has that authentic Bolognese character – you know, the kind with those beautiful porticoes that Bologna’s famous for, and the apartment setup means you’re not dealing with typical hotel sterility. I mean, you’ve got actual space to spread out, which is refreshing after bouncing between cramped European hotel rooms. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s polished and well-maintained without trying too hard to impress. What really won me over was how the owners (or management, I’m not entirely sure) clearly understand what travelers actually need. The Wi-Fi works properly, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase for your entire stay.

Here’s the thing about the location that guidebooks won’t tell you – Via del Carro puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to the university quarter in about ten minutes, but you’re also just a short stroll from some of the best osterie that locals actually frequent. I discovered this little place called Osteria del Sole just by wandering around the neighborhood (you bring your own food and they provide the wine and atmosphere – very Bologna). The street itself is pretty quiet, especially at night, which I appreciated since some central Bologna locations can get surprisingly noisy with all the student nightlife.

Parking’s always a nightmare in Bologna’s center, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway – the train station’s easily walkable, and everything you want to see is within reach on foot. The 8.9 rating seems about right to me; it’s the kind of place that does everything well without any major surprises, good or bad. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly because it feels like you’re actually living in Bologna for a few days rather than just passing through as a tourist. Plus, there’s something satisfying about making coffee in an actual kitchen instead of fumbling with those tiny hotel room machines every morning.

  The apartment is beautiful, with two rooms and exceptionally clean. Hygiene is 10/10.
  It’s located right in the city center, so there’s no need to use public transport— the main street is just 1 minute away, and the central station is a 15-minute walk.
  The owner is extremely kind and wonderful. We felt very comfortable and welcome.

  Located in a fantastic area close to everything! The apartment was 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed. It has a small kitchen area & bathroom, no lounge/living space but that didn’t bother us, we were only there to sleep & shower. The apartment is located on the second floor so you must climb stairs to get there. Location was fantastic & our host Dino was wonderful, very responsive. Highly recommend!
