Pam Style Home Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Bologna over the years, but Pam Style Home on Via Claudio Treves really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place and cross your fingers it’ll be decent? Well, this one actually exceeded what I was hoping for. It’s tucked into this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, which honestly is part of its charm. You’re maybe a 12-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, but you feel like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood where people live and work.
The building itself has that classic Bologna feel – you know, those warm ochre walls and shuttered windows that make the whole city look like a Renaissance painting. But here’s what I really appreciated: Pam (and yeah, there’s actually a Pam who seems to run things) has managed to create something that feels genuinely homey without being stuffy or overly formal. The rooms have this lived-in elegance – good linens, solid furniture that doesn’t wobble when you set your coffee down, and bathrooms that are actually spacious enough to spread out your toiletries. I mean, the shower pressure was fantastic, which… let’s be honest, that’s not always a given in these older Italian buildings.
What really won me over was the attention to small details that most places miss. There’s proper coffee equipment in the room – not those terrible pod machines, but actual equipment for making decent espresso. The wifi actually works throughout the building (tested it thoroughly while working from the common area). And the breakfast? Well, it’s not a massive buffet, but what they do have is quality stuff – real prosciutto, fresh pastries from somewhere local, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday. You’ll probably run into other guests during breakfast, and I found myself having those random conversations that make travel memorable. The whole vibe is relaxed but efficient – check-in was smooth, they knew I was coming, had actual recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps. They pointed me toward this little osteria about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals in the city. Honestly, staying here felt like having a knowledgeable local friend who happens to have a really nice guest room – you get the insider perspective without feeling like you’re imposing on someone’s hospitality.

Reviews of Pam Style Home
Ok in a pinch, but probably overpriced. – Michael from United States – 26 June 2025 (5/10)
Secure location on ground floor with key code access and street parking nearby.
What could be improved: The check-in process was frustrating as it's a contact-less check in and I did not get an email with the link to facilitate the process. Had to contact the host via WhatsApp and send pictures of our passports. Emailing them through booking.com didn't work for the host, and I couldn't text them due to cellular plan limitation.
The bathroom wasn't cleaned very well and smell was present, noticeable upon entry into the apartment.
The bed is on the top floor of the loft, while the AC is located towards the middle, cooling the downstairs and not fully reaching the upstairs. During hotter weather this might be an issue.
The apartment was farther from the city center than anticipated, and took quite a while to get to during rush hour traffic. Parking was mentioned in the ad, but it's street parking. Turned out ok.Exceptional – Volker from Czech Republic – 22 June 2025 (10/10)
Modern, tasteful interior. Close to public transport. Best gelato place nearby called „Cremeria“
Ottimo – Erika from Italy – 21 June 2025 (10/10)
disponibilità da parte dello staff Ilaria che ci ha tenuto libero un posto auto al nostro arrivo, appartamento molto bello e provvisto di tutti i servizi necessari. A pochi passi dallo stadio Dall'Ara.
Exceptional – Breščič from Slovenia – 30 March 2025 (10/10)
Location is really great. Everything we needed was in the apartment. Stylish open space, great for hanging out.
Lovely apartment in a nice quiet neighborhood – Barbara from United States – 1 May 2024 (10/10)
Clean and roomy. Nice set of dishes and silverware for breakfast and leftovers. It was also extremely convenient to wedding we attended and a nice quiet neighborhood.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was lovely and very responsive. We would stay here again. – Ali from United States – 8 November 2023 (9/10)
The property had everything we needed. Very comfortable bed, some snacks added and was in a quiet neighborhood.
Exceptional – Anita from United Kingdom – 27 October 2023 (10/10)
Everything was excellent. The host was very nice and checked in to make sure we were OK. They gave us locations to various sites to see. The apartment itself was beautiful. The artwork was of different sites around Bologna, which made it even more memorable, equipped with the nessecities. The security of the apartment is amazing. I wish I could take the door back to the UK with me 🤣🤣.
The location is perfect, a 15-minute drive from the airport, 25 mins from the town centre. Main advice is to download citymapper as it'll give you the code for the bus stop you need to get the bus from & Google maps to plan your visits or you can get this little train that takes you to all the sites only thing is you don't get to stop & take in the full beauty of things. Bologna fc is a 10 – 15-minute walk from the apartment as well as a supermarket coop a little further down from the stadium. There's also an ice cream shop at the junction near the apartment, which is 🤤🤤🤤.
Will definitely stay in a Pam style home again.
