The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, you know? And the staff, well, they actually seem to know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Mercato delle Erbe for lunch, the guy at the desk didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps – he told me which stalls have the best tortellini and what time to go before it gets crazy. That’s the kind of local insight you can’t fake.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – comfortable beds, good shower pressure (honestly, this matters more than people admit), and enough space to actually unpack without feeling like you’re playing Tetris with your luggage. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even though Via Dossetti gets some traffic during rush hour. The air conditioning actually works, which… if you’ve been to Italy in summer, you know that’s not always a given. One small thing that bugged me – the wifi was a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone was presumably streaming, but it’s not like I came to Bologna to binge Netflix anyway.

What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation. Not fancy, but done right – proper espresso, fresh pastries from somewhere local (not those sad hotel croissants that taste like cardboard), and they had actual prosciutto di Parma, not whatever processed stuff some hotels try to pass off. Plus, you can sit outside in their little courtyard area if the weather’s nice, which feels like a secret garden tucked away from the street.

The location grows on you too. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Piazza Maggiore, but the bus connections are solid, and honestly? Walking through the residential streets in the morning, seeing how actual Bolognese people live – kids heading to school, old guys arguing about football at the corner café – that’s worth more than being in the thick of the tourist zone. Plus, there’s this fantastic little osteria about two blocks away that I never would have found if I’d stayed somewhere more central.

Bottom line: if you want a place that feels authentically Bologna without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t need to be right in the historical center, M2BO DOSSETTI 27 gets it right. It’s the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something, rather than just booked a room.

  It’s approx. 15 min walk to train station. 20-30 min to the city center. Near grocery store. Good wifi. Kitchen in the room with complete utensils. Got some free small sweet and savory packaged snacks and 1 big bottle of fresh water upon arrival. Good communication with Deborah.

  Travelling for work, working at the Bologna Fiere, the location was perfect for this as it was a short 5 minute walk in to the conference centre, there is a Eurospar just over the road from the property if you need any amenities while you are there.
  
  What could be improved: As it was a trade show, the availability of taxis can be hit and miss, however the local bus service is very good and will get you to most places

  Deborah (the hostess) welcomed us with something to eat as soon as we arrived. The apartment is spacious, it faces a green garden and is near bus stations. WiFi was great, hot water, clean towels, 2 TVs. The kitchen and the bathroom were more than fully equipped! Just home! Deborah was always willing on What's up to make us feel comfortable. She proposed for dinner, pizza.. near the neighborhood and downtown. We were very lucky to stay at her apartment! She even took care of our luggage on last day, so we would not carry them downtown and then go to the airport. She also arranged a taxi for us to the airport. Please don't hesitate to book her apartment!

  Location – great! Close to a lot of bus stop, easy to get to the central station, next to supermarkets and restaurants
  Communucation – amazing, the host responded in minutes and helped with every problem
  The apartment is very well equipped, sunny, spacious, with lift, internet, TV and as on pictures.
  We were welcomed by sweet and salty snacks gifted by Deborah and even chocolate bunnies for kids because we stayed during Easter 🙂
  And the last but not least the price is very reasonable so we really recommend to all visiting Bologna.
